Where to Find Good Soup (Yes…Soup!) In Disney World

It’s that time of the year when the weather starts cooling off a bit and we even start thinking we might even need a sweater at night (yes, it DOES happen occasionally in Florida).

Soup is good food.

It’s also the holiday season, which means while we’re enjoying all the fun holiday decor at Disney World while we start buying ALL the new holiday merchandise, we also want to eat serious winter comfort food. And you know what we’re talking about, right? SOUP! We want soup!

But not all soup is created equal at Disney World, so we’ve put together a list of our team’s favorite soups throughout the resort. So if you’re craving a warm bowl of comfort at Disney World, start adding these soups to your list right now!

So, let’s grab our spoon and dig into some good soup.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

Any soup at BOMA

We’re going to start with the resorts because when we do have one of those chilly nights at Disney World, a hot bowl of soup is just the thing to soothe the soul when you get back to your resort at the end of a long day at the parks. And if you’re at Animal Kingdom Lodge, you have some of the best soups on property at your disposal at BOMA!

ALL these soups FTW!

Nearly every soup here is a winner, but we especially love the Carrot Ginger Soup, the Butternut Squash Soup, and the Coconut Chicken Curry Soup. Okay, we lied — WE LIKE ALL THE SOUPS HERE. BOMA is the Soup King of Disney World.

Here’s The Recipe For BOMA’s Coconut Chicken Curry Soup

Butternut Squash Soup at Jiko…The Cooking Place

Like BOMA, you can’t go wrong with ANY of the seasonal soups at Jiko, but we do have our favorite. It’s the Butternut Squash Soup, which we’re pretty sure is the same as the butternut squash soup at BOMA in its perfect deliciousness.

Butternut Squash Soup

What can we say? We have a favorite soup at Animal Kingdom Lodge and this is probably it! Maybe it has something to do with being both a bit sweet and savory. For this soup, you don’t have pick a side, any snack lover will enjoy this soup! And it is also often available at Sanaa.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

French Onion Soup at Steakhouse 71

So there are several iterations of French Onion Soup at Disney World, so we’re going to tell you where to go to get the best. Our #1 pick for French Onion Soup is at Steakhouse 71. It’s made with Rich Beef Broth, Crouton, and Gratinée Cheese.

Look at that cheesy goodness!

And it is SO rich and cheesy, as a good French Onion Soup should be!

Beer and Cheese Soup at California Grill

We’re big fans of CHEESE here at DFB, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that we are IN LOVE with the Beer and Cheese Soup at California Grill at the Contemporary Resort. Granted, the seasonal soups here are ALL delicious, but there’s just something about cheese soup that comes with a hand-braided pretzel to dip in it that gives us the warm fuzzies.

Beer and Cheese Soup

The soup is made with potato-celery root foam, garlic butter, and heirloom apple. It’s VERY rich and VERY good. It’s basically beer cheese soup, but UPGRADED.

Disney’s Beach Club Resort and BoardWalk

Tomato Soup at Beaches and Cream and BoardWalk Bakery

Is there anything better than a Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup? Well, you can get that delicious combo at both Beaches and Cream and BoardWalk Bakery. We’re not sure if they’re the same soup, but we love both.

Grilled Cheese and tomato soup — a match made in heaven!

So if you can’t get an advance dining reservation at Beaches and Cream and you’re craving tomato soup, head on over to BoardWalk Bakery instead! Both soups are rich and creamy with a good tart tomato taste!

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Strawberry Soup at 1900 Park Fare

One of our absolute favorite soups from the Grand Floridian is the Strawberry Soup at 1900 Park Fare. No, it’s not a smoothie, it’s actually a cold, sweet soup, and it is DELICIOUS. It’s popular here for a reason.

Strawberry Soup!

Note: 1900 Park Fare is still currently closed, but we’ve spotted the Strawberry Soup at the Grand Floridian Cafe as a secret menu item — or if you really have a craving for it, you can make it at home!

Here’s The Recipe For Strawberry Soup

Tomato Bisque at Grand Floridian Cafe

And SPEAKING of the Grand Floridian Cafe, there’s another secret menu item that we think you soup-lovers need to know about. It’s Tomato Bisque. It is PERFECT for a cold and rainy day in Florida — pretty much the ultimate comfort food.

Shhh! This tomato bisque is a secret, apparently!

It’s made with tomato puree and chicken stock, topped with crème Fraiche, toast point, and scallions. The flavor is on point, simple, and delicious. Basically, it’s like eating a hug, one spoonful at a time.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Portobello Mushroom Soup at Artist Point

Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge also has one of our favorite soups. It’s Portobello Mushroom Soup, and it is a guest-favorite for a reason. We’ve even seen it convert mushroom haters into bonafide fans!

Portobello Soup at Artist Point

Artist Point recently reopened, so you can chat with Snow White and some of her gang while sippin’ on this creamy, earthy soup.  We’ve also seen this soup at Territory Lounge, too, if you prefer a meal sans Evil Queen!

Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort

Asian Noodle Soup at The Artist’s Palette

Disney World continues to embrace more plant-based options and one of our new favorites just happens to be a soup! It’s the Asian Noodle Soup at The Artist’s Palette. It’s made with rice noodles, napa cabbage, onions, mushrooms, carrots, and jalapenos, all swimming in a miso pho broth.

Asian Noodle Soup

This soup has such great flavor that we think it will please just about anyone, regardless of whether they’re on a plant-based diet or not.

Cheddar and Ale Soup at Olivia’s Cafe

Olivia’s Cafe is one of the most underrated restaurants at Disney World. Not only is the food here always great, but you can’t go wrong with ordering the soup of the day! And it’s even better when it’s the Cheddar and Ale Soup (again, we love cheesy soups made with booze!).

Cheddar and Ale Soup

What can we say? When it comes to soups, we LOVE it when there’s cheese involved.

EPCOT

Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup at Le Cellier Steakhouse

Okay, so you KNEW we’d mention the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup at Le Cellier — if anything, we’re predictable with these kinds of soups! It’s made with Moosehead Pale Ale and Nueske’s Applewood-smoked Bacon. And CHEESE. And you can taste that smoky bacon and the tang of beer, too.

Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup

Of all the soups we often recommend, this one makes it to the top of our list more often than not! And even better? You can get it during the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival without a reservation because it’s served at the Canada boothAnd if you want this cheese soup any time of year, we show you how to make it at home (plus it’ll save you the cost of a park ticket!).

Crema de Elote at La Hacienda de San Angel

The Crema de Elote at La Hacienda de San Angel in Mexico is another of our favorites! It’s a Cream of Corn Soup, served in two parts: one bowl contains corn, tortilla strips, seasoning, sour cream, and hot sauce. Then the server adds the creamy soup.

Crema de Elote

The Crema de Elote isn’t just a soup, it’s an experience. It contains the perfect amount of sweetness and spiciness and is just about as perfect as a soup can get.

Soupe a l’oignon gratinée From Chefs de France

Again, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that we’re going to mention ANOTHER French Onion Soup, this time at Chefs de France at the France Pavilion. Here, it’s called Soupe a l’oignon gratinée, and comes topped with ooey gooey Gruyere cheese. Like how can you resist?

French Onion Soup

This soup is rich without being heavy and is probably our second favorite French Onion Soup at Disney World.

Bisque de Homard at Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie

We’re staying in France for this next soup recommendation because the Lobster Bisque (aka Bisque de Homard) at Les Halles is absolutely divine. And it comes in a bread bowl —  like seriously, why isn’t more soup served in bread bowls?!

Bisque de Homard

It’s a nice hearty option for those colder nights at EPCOT (hey, it happens!). And even better? It’s priced at under $8.

Potato and Leek Soup at Rose and Crown Pub and Dining Room

If you’re looking for another super hearty soup, we’re big fans of the Potato and Leek Soup at Rose and Crown in the UK Pavilion. This is a thick and rich soup, with just a subtle taste of onion flavor from the leeks. And it’s another one we’ll always recommend on a chilly or rainy day in Florida.

Potato and Leek Soup

And if you can’t get to EPCOT anytime soon, feel free to check out the recipe so you can make it at home.

Pop Eats at the EPCOT Festival of the Arts

Last year, the Pop Eats booth at the EPCOT Festival of the Arts served up a delicious Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup IN A CAN. We love the nod to Andy Warhol with this dish and the soup in a can is perfect for dipping the grilled cheese into.

Tomato Soup

The soup itself is rich, full, and tangy — everything a tomato soup should be.

Sweet Corn Soup At Nomad Lounge

What do you get when you mix Butter Poached Lobster, Cilantro Crema, Charred Corn, Pickled Jalapeño, Cotija Cheese, and Tajin? You get the cheesy yumminess that is the Sweet Corn Soup at Nomad Lounge. But when we first had it, we were confused because we received a big bowl with just the ingredients — but what you’re supposed to do is pour the provided Sweet Corn Purée over it.

Sweet Corn Soup

And when you do that, you’re in for one of the tastiest soups you’ve ever had. It’s creamy and delicious, and the presentation (once we figured it out) was great! For those home chefs out there who like to see how culinary magic is done, this is a satisfying and fun soup.

Magic Kingdom

New England Clam Chowder at Columbia Harbour House

Yes, you can get great clam chowder at Disney World — and from a quick-service restaurant at that! You’ll find the New England Clam Chowder at Columbia Harbour House — and you’ll find it warm and filling (again, something that just hits the spot on a cold or rainy day).

New England Clam Chowder

And this dish even got a fun 50th anniversary makeover as the Spoon For One More — with that, it even comes in a Haunted Mansion-themed bread bowl! For those clam chowder lovers out there, this will fill your belly without emptying your wallet!

French Onion Soup at Be Our Guest

Although it’s not our FAVORITE French Onion Soup at Disney World, the French Onion Soup at Be Our Guest is still a solid choice. This one comes topped with a Toasted Crouton, as well as both Gruyère and Provolone Cheeses (and when it comes to more cheese, we say “yes, please!”).

Cheeeeeesy French Onion Soup!

Seriously, you just can’t go wrong with all the melty cheese on top of this soup (ok, let’s be real, we’re happy with melty cheese on top of pretty much anything), which is currently offered as an appetizer as part of Be Our Guest’s pre-fixe menu.

Disney Springs

Any Soup from Raglan Road

If you want good soup at Disney Springs, you’ll find that the Soul Soup (aka Soup of the Day) at Raglan Road will literally soothe your soul (maybe that’s why they call it that). But we do have some favorites — the Colcannon Soup is a delicious traditional Irish soup made with mashed potatoes and cabbage (and we’ve got the recipe right here!).

Colcannon Soup

And the Dublin Bay Prawn Bisque is presented with a lightly deep-fried Prawn on a bed of Crème Fraîche, and then servers pour a creamy Bisque over it all that makes for one delightful soup.
