Now it looks like supply chain issues could impact a major kids’ menu staple at many restaurants and grocery stores around the nation. If you have a picky kiddo who always sticks to one food, you might want to read on.
Today reported that chicken tenders are being impacted by the ongoing supply chain crisis, which could result in higher prices and lower stock in restaurants and grocery stores. Chicken tenders, also called chicken strips, are different from chicken nuggets in that they’re made of a filet from a chicken breast, which requires more work in processing and packaging.

According to Today and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, a value pack price of chicken tenders has increased by almost a dollar per pound since 2020, with an average rise in price from $3.02 to $3.99. Even chain restaurants like Kentucky Fried Chicken and A&W have stopped advertising chicken tenders in hopes it will prevent them from selling out.
