There’s nothing quite as disappointing as speed-walking up to your favorite Disney World ride, only to find that it’s closed.
Rides can close for several different reasons (like the weather, maintenance issues, etc.), but you can be prepared for some of the closures ahead of time. We’ve got this week’s list of all the rides, attractions, and hotels that are scheduled to be CLOSED in Disney World next week.
Magic Kingdom is going to start off our list with a popular attraction and long-term closure.
Magic Kingdom Refurbishments
Splash Mountain
Splash Mountain has temporarily closed for refurbishments, which include scheduled maintenance on this ride (so don’t get excited for the new Princess and the Frog changes just yet).
This popular ride will be closed through February 10th, so you’ll be able to ride it again starting on the 11th.
Walt Disney World Railroad
The Walt Disney World Railroad is also still closed.
This attraction has been MIA for a LONG time, partly due to refurbishments and partly due to construction happening over in Tomorrowland.
The construction on the upcoming TRON: Lightcycle Run ride has made it so that the WDW train cannot pass by this area. We don’t have an end date for that construction, so we’re not sure yet when the railroad might reopen.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Refurbishments
Expedition Everest
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Expedition Everest is still closed for its refurbishment, which will last for a few more months.
Disney has not announced an official opening date for this coaster yet, but it’s supposed to return sometime in April 2022.
In the meantime, you can sometimes find Cast Members playing games with guests outside the attraction!
So you might not be able to take a train into the Himalayas, but you CAN make some new Cast Member friends.
Finding Nemo: The Musical
Finding Nemo: The Musical is also closed in Animal Kingdom. A reimagined version of this show will return sometime in 2022.
The classic show will get a few major changes. It is now going to be based on the timeline from Finding Dory, although it will keep some fan-favorite songs from the original show.

EPCOT Refurbishments
Souk-al-Magreb
If you’ve heard of Souk-al-Magreb, you’re probably a World Showcase master. If you haven’t, it’s the gift shop in the Morocco pavilion at EPCOT’s World Showcase.
This shop is usually stocked with souvenirs inspired by Morocco, but it’s been closed for several months now.
It’s scheduled to reopen on February 6th, 2022.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Refurbishments
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
The Voyage of the Little Mermaid show is still closed in Hollywood Studios, and it doesn’t have a reopening date yet.
If you’re a big Little Mermaid fan, you can still go on the Journey of the Little Mermaid ride in Magic Kingdom!
This attraction is a slow ride through Ariel’s story, whereas the Voyage of the Little Mermaid is a theater show.
Fantasmic!
The nighttime show Fantasmic! has not yet returned, but we at least have a hint at when it’ll be back. This show is scheduled to return in 2022 with some changes.
We’re watching for more specific opening dates for both of those attractions, and we’ll keep you updated.

Disney World Hotel Refurbishments
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
The only Disney World hotel that is still closed right now is Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort. This hotel is reopening on March 31st, 2022.
Reservations are open now for this hotel.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Some of the DVC Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa are closed right now for a few refurbishments.
Disney is adding new pull-out beds to these rooms so that more guests can fit into the rooms.
Disney World Pool Refurbishments
The Flippin’ Fins Pool (in the Little Mermaid section of the resort) at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort will be closed through late February of this year.
If you’re staying at Art of Animation, you can use the Big Blue Pool (in the Finding Nemo section of the resort) or the Cozy Cone Pool (in the Cars section of the resort), which will both remain open.
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Samawati Springs Pool (at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village) will be closed from January 2022 through April 2022.
Guests at the Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village can head over to the Jambo House area to use the Uzima Springs Pool.

Disney World Water Park Refurbishments
Blizzard Beach is still closed in Disney World, so guests looking for a water park experience will need to head to Typhoon Lagoon instead.
Blizzard Beach does not have a reopening date yet, and most of the attractions are listed on Disney’s refurbishment schedule for a few months.
