There’s a new food location coming to Disney Springs! Last year, we learned that the ice cream chain Salt & Straw would open a new location in Disney Springs, offering guests a new way to grab a frozen treat in Disney World.
Salt and Straw in Downtown Disney
At the time it was announced, Salt & Straw shared that they were aiming to open in 2022 –– this year! And it looks like we’re closer to getting an exact opening date.
According to News 6, Salt & Straw plans to open in March of this year. In an email from Alison Hiatt, Chief Market Officer for Salt & Straw, it was shared that “We are THRILLED to say we plan to open in March — exact timeline still pending construction — but that is our current plan.”

Once open, it will be the first Salt & Straw location in Central Florida. The Portland-based dessert shop has been around at Downtown Disney in the Disneyland Resort for a while, with some unique flavors including Mushroom Muddy Buddies and Salted Caramel Thanksgiving Turkey. Don’t worry, it has the classics like Vanilla and Chocolate, too.
