FIRST LOOK: Disney World’s Flying Fish Restaurant Has Finally Reopened!

We’ve got another round of restaurant re-openings over the next couple of weeks, including some popular spots at Disney World hotels. Jiko is finally returning at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge on February 17th, the Turf Club Bar & Grill is returning on February 3rd to Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, and Cape May Café at Disney’s Beach Club Resort is bringing back buffets on February 15th.

We’re excited to see the returns and changes at these restaurants, but today we’re focused on one spot in particular, which has officially returned to a popular Disney World hotel! Right now, we’re visiting a re-opened restaurant that’s serving up signature seafood and steak offerings. Come in with us to see what’s changed at this spot.

Flying Fish has officially re-opened at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn! In case you haven’t visited this restaurant, it’s a high-end spot that serves gourmet seafood and steak dishes. We’ve enjoyed some fancy dinners here in the past, so let’s head in to see what’s different about it now that it has returned.

Check-In

You will need reservations for Flying Fish. When the time for your reservations comes up, you can head up to the host stand to let them know that you’ve arrived.

Once they’re ready for you, you should receive a text message letting you know to return to the front.

Atmosphere

Flying Fish got some big updates just a few years ago, and the decor is much more sophisticated now.

Flying Fish

Previously, there was a very prevalent circus theme, which didn’t really lend to the whole “high-end dining” concept. Now, the darker tones, mirrors, and crystal chandeliers make this spot elegant and gorgeous.

Even the silverware is themed — they look like fish!

So cute!

There are some beautiful details throughout the restaurant — it’s worth a quick walk around to check out the decor while you wait for your food to arrive!

Beautiful!

There are still some nods to the circus theme, including mirrors at the front entrance that look sort of like a tent. But overall, it’s much more subdued and luxurious-looking.

The Food

A lovely dining room is great, but we know why you’re really here — the FOOD, of course! Let’s take a look at the menu at this returning spot.

Flying Fish Menu

Note that there aren’t a ton of options for drinks and cocktails on the menu, but the AbracadaBar is actually attached to this restaurant. So you can always head into that lounge before or after your meal to find a lot of great options.

If you’d rather stick to Flying Fish, though, there are a few choices for specialty cocktails.

For appetizers, you can find dishes like Lobster Bisque, Slow-roasted Pork Belly (one of our favorites in the past), and Prince Edward Island Mussels.

Entrées include both land and sea choices. There are seafood dishes like Salmon and Seafood Pearl Pasta, or you can grab a landlubber choice like Organic Chicken, Filet Mignon, or Char-crusted New York Strip (one of our favorites!).

Kids can create their own meal, with choices for appetizers, entrées, and sides.

You can add some extra dishes onto the side of your meal with the Enhancements, and don’t forget about dessert!

Before food arrives, guests are treated to a tasty bread basket with butter.

For our visit, we decided to try the Slow-roasted Pork Belly as our appetizer for $16.

For our entree, we chose the Seafood Pearl Pasta for $55, which comes with Shrimp, Lobster, Scallops, Clams, and Mussels.

We also chose to add on Seared Scallops as an Enhancement for an additional $21.

Clearly, you gotta have a true love of seafood to enjoy this dish!
