Universal Orlando Resort
- After multiple days of being down, the Hogwarts Express will likely be closed for another full week due to an issue with the attraction’s pull cable.
- The theme park injury report has been updated to include the fourth quarter of 2021, which covered October through December.
- Universal Orlando Resort has reversed the decision to require unvaccinated Team Members to undergo weekly COVID-19 testing, which was initially announced on January 10.

Universal Studios Florida
- This new Hello Kitty backpack and wallet by Loungefly are cute enough to eat. They are the latest of several recent collaborations between Sanrio and Loungefly available at Universal Orlando Resort.
- A new Loungefly purse resembling “The Quibbler” magazine from “Harry Potter” is now available at Universal Orlando Resort. We found it in the Hello Kitty Store at Universal Studios Florida.
- Universal Studios Florida is preparing for Mardi Gras 2022, which kicks off on February 5. White tents with themed façades are now popping up throughout the park.
- Two new “Jaws” magnetic bottle openers are available at Universal Orlando Resort. One is shark-shaped, while the other matches the recent Amity Island surf shop merchandise line.
- Construction walls have been erected outside Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone at Universal Studios Florida.
- Bumblebee Man’s Taco Truck is a quick place to grab tacos while passing through Springfield at Universal Studios Florida. The menu has had a few changes recently, so we decided to stop by and see what’s new.
- If you’re fans of the timeless Universal Monsters, then you won’t want to miss these adorable Loungefly accessories which have materialized at Universal Orlando Resort!
- Universal Orlando Annual Passholders can now sign up to ride a Mardi Gras parade float on select nights at Universal Studios Florida.
- Another Loungefly item featuring Frankenstein’s monster and his bride has arrived at Universal Studios Florida.
- Sahara Traders will temporarily become dedicated to Universal’s Classic Monsters while Revenge of the Mummy is closed for six months.
- Have you ever wanted to own a piece of a closed attraction? Now’s your chance with these new Shrek 4-D Props at Williams of Hollywood Prop Shop at Universal Studios Florida.
- More Shrek-4D props are being sold including this massive mirror, formerly home to the Magic Mirror who would introduce guests visiting to the story of Shrek.
- Check out these new plush characters from “Sing 2” we found at Universal Orlando Resort today. These were spotted at the Universal Studios Store at Universal Studios Florida.
Universal’s Islands of Adventure
- A new “Despicable Me” plush of Agnes and her unicorn is now available at Universal Orlando Resort. We found it in Islands of Adventure Trading Company.
- New Mardi Gras candles from the Magic Candle Company are now available at the All Hallows Voodoo Boutique in Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
- More Mardi Gras decorations have been added to the All Hallows Eve Boutique.
- In addition to new Mardi Gras candles, Universal Orlando Resort has four new candles inspired by some of their classic attractions.
- Four new hats inspired by the “Jurassic Park” franchise are now available at Universal Orlando Resort. These were in the Jurassic Park Discovery Center at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
- Mardi Gras is just around the corner and more merchandise keeps trickling in ahead of the season’s kickoff. We found these all at All Hallows Voodoo Boutique inside Islands of Adventure at Universal Orlando Resort.
- A new color scheme continues to take over the façade of Poseidon’s Fury in Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
- A Jurassic World I.D. badge machine has arrived at the Jurassic Park Discovery Center in Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
Volcano Bay
- Universal’s Volcano Bay water park was closed Saturday, January 22, and Sunday, January 23, due to cold weather conditions in Central Florida. It will also be closed tomorrow, January 24, as well.
Universal Orlando CityWalk
- A new Loungefly wallet inspired by Diagon Alley has appeared in Universal Orlando Resort. We found it in the “Harry Potter” section of Universal Studios Store in CityWalk.
Universal Studios Hollywood
- Two Wizarding World journals are now available for purchase at Universal Studios Hollywood. We found these in the Upper Lot Universal Studios Store.
- No trip to the Wizarding World is complete without a visit to Hogwarts itself! So when we took a flight aboard Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, we noticed the return of something rather conspicuous—the on-ride photo.
Universal Studios Japan
- A number of local news outlets including the Mainichi Shimbun and NHK are reporting that thirty guests aboard Universal Studios Japan’s headliner coaster Hollywood Dream: The Ride were evacuated from the top of the 141-foot high lift hill for the second time in four months.
- Universal Studios Japan announces new entertainment featuring Sesame Street, Minions, Hello Kitty, and more for 2022.
