How to Navigate Those Long EPCOT Food Lines Between Festivals!

We’re back to that weird EPCOT limbo where one festival (in this case the Festival of the Holidays) has ended and another festival (the Festival of the Arts) is getting ready to start. Since there are no extra food booths during this intermission period between festivals, that means one thing: long lines for food!

Festival of the Arts

Now, don’t worry: just like the holiday crowds, there’s an easy way to navigate the long food lines we’ll face up until the Festival of Arts starts on January 14th! Let’s take a look at three tips for getting your food in the quickest (and most stress-free!) way possible.

As we were walking around EPCOT this weekend, we noticed there were SO many super long lines. But guess what — you don’t always have to wait in them!

EPCOT Crowds

The first major tip we can give you is to grab your food at off times! This is a DFB tip we say ALL of the time, but it works! Lunchtime is one of the most crowded times to grab food with lots of people flocking to quick service and counter service spots. Instead of grabbing lunch around noon, try getting food closer to rope drop or mid-afternoon. This way, you can avoid the crowds and get your food quickly!

Gelateria Toscana had quite the line!

Another big tip is to place Mobile Orders BEFORE you get hungry! This is another one we’ve mentioned before but is important on busy days — Mobile Order times can fill up fast when there are big crowds, so guarantee yourself a meal by ordering it before you’re hungry. Plan the Mobile Order for when you think you’ll be hungry and thank us later! We saw several big crowds outside of Mobile Order locations, but this tip should save you some time on a busy day. Remember, you can adjust the time on your Mobile Order if your plans change.

The line at Tangierine Café

Finally, check to make sure that the item you want isn’t sold at multiple locations! What do we mean by this? Well, let’s take a look at a recent example. The other day, we noticed a VERY long line for the Bier und Bretzelen Cart in the Germany Pavilion because it offered the Schöfferhofer Pink Grapefruit Hefeweizen (which is an ESSENTIAL beer in our opinion). However, this beer is also available at Sommerfest, which had a much shorter line.

That’s one long line for beer…

On top of EPCOT being between festivals, this weekend was the Walt Disney World Marathon which brought plenty of people to the parks! Those are just a few of the ways you can navigate the lines at EPCOT between the food fests! We’re always keeping up with the latest Disney news (very soon we’ll have Festival of the Arts info for you all!), so stay tuned here for more!
