Disney World is a huge operation, and sometimes things don’t go 100% to plan.
It takes a lot to keep Disney World running!
We’ve seen with previous emergencies that Disney World is prepared to handle all kinds of problems in the parks, wherever they may occur. Last night, many guests in and around Magic Kingdom experienced one of those problems as the power went out, shutting down some transportation and leaving guests in the dark.
According to Fox 35 Orlando, Magic Kingdom and some nearby hotels experienced a power outage at about 6PM.

The outage affected some transportation in this area, including the Monorails and Ferryboats. Guests on social media reported that buses were packed full due to the limited transportation options.

According to one guest, the power went out at both Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, which are both located near Magic Kingdom. From what we can tell, it sounds like the outage didn’t affect the entire hotel at either location; some areas at each hotel lost power.
