It’s the end of an era. Shrek 4-D has permanently closed at Universal Studios Florida. The attraction has had a long run since opening back in 2003, so it was no surprise that fans came out to experience the show one more time before closed permanently.
We showed up for the final showing at the end of the day and found crowds singing, dancing, and raising up lit phones to pay their final respects to the giant green ogre.
Fans started singing songs from the films, including “All Star” and “Hallelujah” while Team Members hyped up the crowd.
The excitement and chanting of “Shrek! Shrek! Shrek!” continued in the queue as we made our way into the pre-show room.
You could feel the excitement from the crowd during the pre-show and the packed theater didn’t hold back with their reactions during the film. It was amazing!
On the way out of the theater, Team Members informed everyone that Universal did not want the glasses back and we could keep them as a souvenir. This was a great way to end the night.
