PHOTOS & VIDEOS: See All of the Entertainment at Disneyland Resort’s Lunar New Year Festival

Happy Lunar New Year, everyone!

Lunar New Year Festival

Disneyland is celebrating the holiday with festivities all around Disney California Adventure Park. From January 21 through February 13, 2022, the park will ring in the Year of the Tiger with special food, entertainment, and more! We’re at the park today to see all of the festivities, and we’ve already had some great food and drinks, like over at Prosperity Bao & Buns. But, we also came for the promise of some special character sightings, so let’s take a look at ALL of the entertainment at this year’s Lunar New Year celebration!

Arts & Crafts

You can enjoy some arts and crafts in California Adventure for the Lunar New Year! There are these Year of the Tiger fans you can pick up.

So pretty!

They have a colorful design on one side

Colorful design

…and then a blank version on the other that you can color in yourself!

Fill this one in yourself!

There are tables nearby with crayons that also include some placards explaining ancient Chinese lore, like the dragon’s “Pearl of Wisdom.”

Color and learn!

This way, you can learn while crafting!

Lucky Wishes Wall

During the Lunar New Year celebration, you can participate in the Lucky Wishes Wall! Over here, you can write your New Year’s Wishes on the red tags

Wishing Wall Area

…and then tie them to the Wishing Wall! Disney says to “celebrate the Year of the Tiger by sharing wishes that roar with the spirit of confidence.”

The Wishing Wall

They also invite you to reflect on the past and welcome a new year of prosperity and good fortune by writing special messages of hope, health, and happiness for the upcoming year.

A fun way to participate!

The Wishing Wall is open from 10AM to 6PM!

Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession

Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession has returned this year! It takes place on the path from Pixar Pier to Paradise Gardens Obelisk (and back). This procession features music, costumes, and traditional dances by Asian performing troupes.

Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession takes place several times throughout the day. Make sure to check your Disneyland App and the park entertainment schedule for times.

Raya

You can see Raya from Raya and the Last Dragon over at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail!

Raya!!

This is Raya’s first Lunar New Year appearance in California Adventure! Her meet and greet area is beautiful.

There are 2 lines you can get into when visiting Raya — a photo line and a pass through line. It’s important to note that Cast Members are not taking photos, you either have to have someone in your party take them or take a selfie. There is no PhotoPass here!

So exciting!

We’re so happy we finally got to meet her!!

Raya is out from 2PM-8PM today, but her schedule will most likely change as the Lunar New Year celebration continues, so make sure to check with a Cast Member when you visit!

Melody of China

At the Paradise Garden Bandstand, you can see daily performances featuring the Melody of China. This trio performs a “fusion of Chinese folk, classical and contemporary instrumentals” on a “traditional Chinese yangqin (dulcimer), pipa (lute) and erhu (fiddle).” When we went by, they were playing “It’s a Small World!

You can find the times for these performances on your Disneyland App and in the park entertainment schedule.

We’ll keep updating this post with ALL of the entertainment available for Lunar New Year in Disney California Adventure Park! And, stay tuned to DFB as we check out more food and fun at the festival.
