REVIEW: Chicken Parmesan Sandwich from Pizzafari at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

During a recent visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Craig stopped by Pizzafari for a quick lunch and shared his thoughts below.

While better than the pizza served at Walt Disney World quick-service restaurants and Pizzafari, the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich still wasn’t great. The ciabatta bun was a highlight, and we all know that in some instances the bread can make a sandwich.

However, the chicken patty itself was less-than-desirable. It was the equivalent of a dollar menu fast-food chicken sandwich or one you’d expect to find in a school cafeteria. It would be better to just invest in a better chicken patty and raise the price of the sandwich a bit more.

The seasoning on the sandwich was fine. The marinara probably won’t win over those who are picky about their red sauce, but it gets the job done. I could always use more cheese as the provolone brought the sandwich together.

The texture was not very desirable because the soft and fresh bread essentially felt the same as the breaded and fried chicken patty.

Overall, I’d still skip it and go towards Satu’li Canteen, Flame Tree Barbecue, or even Yak & Yeti, but if I was forced to eat at Pizzafari, I would go for the sandwich over the pizza.
