REVIEW: Chocolate Popcorn with Red Crait Salt and Strawberry Banana Outpost Mix Return to Kat Saka’s Kettle in Disneyland

Strawberry banana popcorn has returned as the outpost mix at Kat Saka’s Kettle in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland. The popcorn kiosk also has chocolate popcorn available, so we decided to pick up a couple of bags for a snack and see if they still hold up.

Kat Saka’s Kettle can be found at the end of the Batuu market.

Strawberry Banana Outpost Popcorn Mix – $6.69

This is a mix of yellow banana-flavored kettle corn and pink strawberry-flavored kettle corn.

Individually, each type of kettle corn is fine, though they definitely have a strong artificial flavor.

Together in a handful, the two different flavors mask each other somewhat and take the edge off.

We definitely recommend grabbing a bag on your next off-world trip to Batuu.

Chocolate Popcorn – $6.69

with Crait red salt

This is your typical kettle corn from Kat Saka’s, except covered in chocolate and doused in salt from Crait, the now-uninhabited red mineral world dusted by a layer of white salt which reflects the planet’s sunlight. Once a Rebel Alliance outpost, Crait has now become a safe haven for the fleeing Resistance forces. And we’ve gotta say, the planet’s source mineral makes for some tasty popcorn.

This popcorn was excellent, with just the perfect amount of chocolate to give it flavor, yet still retain lots of crunch. It had just the right amount of sweetness, with hints of salt cutting any potential cloyingness.

We’d get this again for sure. It’s just as good as the Outpost Popcorn Mix, but a definite must-have if you’re a chocolate lover.
