We aren’t the biggest fans of Brie, but this was rather enjoyable. The cheese wasn’t too sharp or pungent, which makes it more palatable. The bread was nice and soft, a perfect pairing for the creme. It also takes a cute picture thanks to the artwork on the bread and the napkin set up.

Croissant à la Truffe Noire d’Hiver: Black Winter Truffle Croissant, served warm – $8.00

This was a rich, buttery, crunchy croissant filled with truffles. It was creamy and warm inside. It was fine but nothing exceptional.

*NEW* Mousseline de Bisque de Homard Froide, Brioche Feuilletée à l’Aneth: Chilled Lobster Bisque Mousse served with Dill Brioche – $10.50

This is one of the grossest food items in festival history. It absolutely looks like a dessert, and it has the consistency of one, but the mousse has chunks of lobster and a very fishy taste. DO NOT GET THIS.

Moelleux aux Noisettes et Chocolats Valrhona: Molten Chocolate and Hazelnut Cake with Pure Origin Valrhona Chocolates – $7.75

In a slight change from last year, there’s now hazelnut inside, but you only taste it on the back end. This is a consistently good dessert, but pretty basic as it’s just a chocolate lava cake. Still worth ordering if you want it, though.

*NEW* Frozen French Martini: Grey Goose Vodka ($27/bottle), Chambord Liqueur ($28/bottle), Pineapple, Orange and Grape Juice with Lemon-Lime Foam – $15.00

We expected this to be extremely sweet based on the description; however, this was a crowd pleaser. It’s well-balanced and sweet, but not too sweet where you lose the essence of this delicious cocktail. You can really taste the grape juice in this one. The lemon-lime foam on top was somewhat flat, which was disappointing, but the Chambord is the highlight of the drink, pairing very well with the grape juice. This one gets a big thumbs up from us.

*NEW* Charles Lafitte, Brut Rosé Prestige, Méthode Traditionnelle Champenoise, French Rosé Sparkling Wine ($15/bottle) – $8.00

According to Drizly, this sparkling wine has a “beautiful pale pink color, with slightly salmon reflections,” “floral aromas of a spring bouquet of flowers with subtle notes of little red berries,” with a taste of “delicacy and freshness, soft and elegant notes of strawberry combined with wildflowers.”

*NEW* Le Haut Médoc de Trintaudon, Cabernet Sauvignon ($15/bottle) – $9.50

From Monsieur Touton Selection, Ltd.: “The deep, ruby-red color is intense and bright. The nose is dominated by fresh red fruit, backed by subtle oaky aromas which add to the overall complexity. On the palate, the attack is bold and well-rounded, with well-integrated tannins and an excellent sense of balance. The elegant finish is long, fruity, and velvety.”

*NEW* Champagne Malard, Blanc de Blanc, Sparkling Chardonnay ($37/bottle) – $17.00

According to Champagne Malard, their Blanc de Blanc has “a lively fizz with the characteristic bright golden-green Chardonnay hues,” while “the nose is fresh and elegant with a floral attack. Delicate brioche notes hint at the beginnings of maturity. When exposed to air, a gentle combination of dried fruit and honey confirm the balance between freshness and maturity.” The taste is “complex, replicating the freshness and maturity of the nose.”
