At Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon’s reopening today, we tried the new DOLE Whip soft-serve flavors at the Snack Shack. Keep on reading for our review of these new desserts.
DOLE Whip Soft-Serve
Pineapple, Lime, Mango, or Raspberry served in a Waffle Cone– $4.99
with Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, or El Jimador Silver Tequila (Beverage with Alcohol) – $11
with Plantation Dark Rum (Beverage with Alcohol) – $12
We tried the raspberry flavor with tequila. This had a generous pour sure to provide a buzz. We wouldn’t combine the tequila with the raspberry again, but it didn’t ruin it.
The raspberry is artificial, not super tart or sweet, but thoroughly enjoyable. We like it better in the Hei Hei cone though.
We also got the pineapple flavor with dark rum. It is a perfect combination, but be advised – this rum is STRONG.
It’s basically a Trader Sam’s beverage. It’s the classic pineapple of DOLE Whip with a mighty pour of perfectly-paired alcohol.
Habanero Shack Swirl – $11
DOLE Whip, El Jimador Silver Tequila, Sprite, and Lime-Chili Rim
This one is originally supposed to have lime flavor but they ran out, unfortunately. But it’s worth noting that they’ll put any flavors in.
The tajin rim is a nice, spicy touch. Pineapple works pretty well with tequila and Sprite as well, even if we didn’t expect it to. We would come back and try this with all the combinations.
