Love coffee? Love whiskey? Then there’s ONE place you need to be on January 25th.
January 25th is National Irish Coffee Day and one popular Irish spot in Disney Springs is celebrating BIG. Raglan Road will be celebrating this obscure (but tasty) holiday with a special promotion you won’t want to miss out on and we recently got a sneak peek at just what you’ll get to enjoy!
Mark your calendars and plan to be at Raglan Road on January 25th if you love Irish Coffee! On this day only, Raglan Road will be running a unique and very limited-time special: “you buy the coffee, the whiskey’s on us!”
For this specific promotion, only Raglan Road’s “Our Signature Irish Coffee” is what will be available as part of the special. If you buy the coffee, Raglan Road will provide the whiskey (on them) for that drink. Raglan Road has indicated that it’ll be served “without limits” to guests who are 21 and up.
Raglan Road also has a number of other signature coffee drinks available (more on that in a second), but note that only the “Our Signature Irish Coffee” will be available for the special deal on National Irish Coffee Day.
We were lucky enough to be invited out to Raglan Road for a special media preview of this offer and sample some TASTY coffee drinks (including the one that is available through the special).
As we walked in to Raglan Road we took a quick detour before the coffee adventure to check out some of the merchandise in their gift shop.
Don’t forget you can pick up all kinds of unique pieces here!
We then walked inside the restaurant and took a second to look around.
If you’ve never been to Raglan Road before, it is an Irish pub and dining room that features live entertainment, a plethora of drink options, and some seriously tasty eats.
Next, it was time for the COFFEE! Looks like our server was READY TO GO.
Folks, this was some GOOD COFFEE! We’ll start with the “Our Signature Irish Coffee” which is the one included in the special promotion for National Irish Coffee Day. This drink is made with Paddy’s Irish Whiskey, freshly-brewed Nespresso coffee, brown sugar, and fresh cream.
This drink was fantastic. The fresh cream placed on top was truly incredible — so rich and so creamy. The coffee they used for it is freshly brewed Nespresso and it was wonderful. It had a bold flavor but was not at all bitter.
They mix it all together with a spoonful of brown sugar, which gives it a wonderful touch of sweetness. And then there’s the whiskey. This drink comes with a pretty heavy pour of Paddy’s Irish Whiskey, which gives it warmth. You’re sure to feel all cozy after sipping on this tasty creation.
We think that even non-coffee drinkers would be really impressed by this drink.
Next, it was time to try the Espresso Martini. Note that this is not part of the National Irish Coffee Day special promotional offer, but it is a drink you can grab at Raglan Road while you’re there (it’s listed on Raglan Road’s regular drink menu)! This is made with Slane Irish Whiskey, Miami club coffee liqueur, Guinness simple syrup, and fresh espresso.
This drink had a caffeine kick! It features Guinness simple syrup, which we really enjoyed. The whiskey wasn’t overpowering, which was nice, but you could still taste it. The addition of the coffee liqueur gave it the biggest coffee flavor of all the drinks we tried, but we still really enjoyed it and we think you might too!
Next up is the Baileys Shake. Again, this is not part of the National Irish Coffee Day special promotional offer, but it is listed on Raglan Road’s regular drink menu. This features a frozen mix of ice cream, Baileys, and coffee liqueur. This was delicious and basically a dessert (not that we’re complaining).
It had the least amount of coffee flavor out of the drinks we tried, since that coffee flavor basically just comes from the coffee liqueur. So if you’re not a big coffee flavor person, this might be the pick for you. The presentation of the drink was also really nice, with the chocolate swirled in the glass before the shake is poured in. Essentially, it was a classic Baileys in frozen form — very tasty!
Finally, we have the Iced Irish. Again, this is not part of the National Irish Coffee Day special promotional offer, but it is listed on Raglan Road’s regular drink menu. This is made with Paddy’s Whiskey, Butterscotch Schnapps, Baileys Salted Caramel, iced coffee, and whipped cream.
This one had some definite sweetness to it, which was great. We also really enjoyed the salted caramel and butterscotch flavors. Like the Baileys Shake, this one didn’t have a huge coffee flavor, but it was creamy and very nice to grab photos of. It’s a fun take on an iced coffee that we enjoyed.
We also got the chance to sample some shared platters that the restaurant is testing. These are not available to purchase, but they did note that they hope to roll out some shared platter options in the next few months. The ones we got to check out were the meat and the seafood.
They also shared that there’s a vegan platter in development. We loved EVERYTHING on these platters and we really can’t wait to see them on the official menu. Note that these are unofficial at the moment, cannot be ordered, and are subject to change. But we still wanted to share a peek at them with you!
And that’s it! We really enjoyed sampling the coffee beverages. If you love Irish Coffee or are a big coffee drinker and looking for a unique way to drink your coffee while in Disney World, you might want to check out some of these offerings. Remember that the National Irish Coffee Day promotion will only be available on January 25th, so mark your calendars!
While we don’t see the “Our Signature Irish Coffee” listed on their regular drink menu online, the other 3 drinks we tried are listed so you can try to check those out any time!
We’ll keep an eye out for more Disney news and let you know what we find.
