REVIEW: We Got Covered in Blue Ice Cream So You Don’t Have To in Disney World

It might be 2022, but Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration is STILL going strong all around the resort!

Typhoon Lagoon has reopened!

Believe us when we say we’ve had a LOT of 50th anniversary cupcakes, brownies, drinks, and other snacks! SO MANY snacks. But a new 50th Anniversary Treat just popped up today, and well, we had to try it! It’s what we do!

As of today, Disney World’s Typhoon Lagoon water park has reopened. And with that reopening comes some new treats, including the EARidescent Ice Dream Cone. It’s a birthday cake-flavored soft-serve swirl in a white chocolate-dipped cone with EARidescent sprinkles. Oh, and yes, there’s blue dye involved…again. SIGH.

EARidescent Ice Dream Cone

So we’ll admit that we expected to hate this snack, but it surprised us! We’re not always the biggest fans of Birthday Cake ice cream because it often tastes like super sweet frosting. But this actually tasted like the CAKE from a birthday cake and was…well…delicious!

Surprisingly delicious

The cone had blue sugar at the top, similar to the green sugar on the Montunui Island Twist we had earlier. We liked that it still didn’t make the cone TOO over the top sugary. BUT the cone itself was exactly like the Hei Hei Cone we also had that pretty much got squishy and dissolved in our hands.

Sugar and sprinkles

And, well, that’s when things got MESSY. Our teeth were blue, our faces were blue, our hands were blue, EVERYTHING was blue. As you can tell, we got a generous serving, which meant MORE BLUE EVERYWHERE.

So here’s the deal — kids are going to love this, especially with the cake flavor, although just understand that it WILL turn their faces blue. We’re talking Violet Beauregarde in Willy Wonka’s Factory blue. For adults? Maybe skip it because this is one of the messiest things we’ve had at Disney World, and there are better options available that won’t leave you feeling like a blueberry.

We grabbed this EARidescent treat at Happy Landings for $5.29, so if you’re looking to try it out, you’ll want to head on over to Typhoon Lagoon to grab it! Stay tuned for more food reviews!
