We’ve officially made it halfway around EPCOT’s World Showcase, which can only mean one thing…Funnel Cakes!

Today, we’re trying a LOT of new and returning eats and drinks at EPCOT’s 2022 International Festival of the Arts. At the American Adventure pavilion in World Showcase, the Funnel Cake Stand has decided to join in the celebration with a NEW funnel cake flavor. Let’s check it out!

The Funnel Cake Stand often has special flavors for EPCOT’s festivals, like the Red Velvet Funnel Cake from last year’s Festival of the Arts or the Candied Bacon S’mores Funnel Cake at the 2021 Food & Wine Festival. This year, the stand is cooking up a very Spring-y flavor for festival-goers.

Menu

The only festival offering on the menu at this stand is the Cherry Blossom Funnel Cake, which is available for $10.

You can still get some normal offerings as well, like the regular Funnel Cake with Sugar or the Cookies ‘n’ Cream Funnel Cake. But we’re just here for those festival eats!

Food

The Cherry Blossom Funnel Cake is a chocolate-chip funnel cake topped with cherry ice cream, rainbow whipped cream (!!), chocolate chips, and a maraschino cherry. Here’s what Disney’s promo photo looked like…

…and here’s what we got. It’s not quite as pretty, but it still looks like it could be delicious!

But does it measure up? Well, first of all, we thought that the cherry had a really “fake” taste to it, which wasn’t ideal. (Sometimes that artificial flavor can remind us of medicine.) However, it wasn’t overpowering, which made sure that it blended well with the other flavors.

The cherry was mild, not tart, so the sweet funnel cake and whipped cream all put together made a good trio.

Overall

It was a pretty good funnel cake and if you’re a fan of cherry, you should definitely add this to your list. However, if you don’t like artificial flavorings or tastes, we suggest skipping this. It’s definitely one of the pricier festival treats, so make sure it’s what you really want before ordering!
