REVIEW: Yes, Disneyland’s Philly Cheesesteak Hot Dog Really is One of Our New Faves!

Ah…Disney’s Grand Californian Resort & Spa. With a new spa (which is absolutely gorgeous) and some great dining options, there’s a reason that this resort is a hotspot for anyone visiting Disneyland Resort!

As we often do this time of the month, we stopped by the resort’s GCH Craftsman Bar & Grill for a special ritual of ours!

What’s that ritual you ask? Well, we always head over to this spot near the top of the month to try the latest Hot Dog of the Month! These wacky dishes have ranged from tamale dogs to an actual churro dog, so you really don’t know what they’re going to concoct each month.

This month’s hot dog is…the Philly Cheesesteak Dog! This hot dog (sandwich? we’re not sure what to call it at this point) features a Hot Dog with Shaved Ribeye Steak, Sautéed Onions, and Bell Peppers, topped with Melted Cheese. You can grab this one for $12! For all intents and purposes, this is literally a hot dog and a Philly cheesesteak put together.

A Philly cheesesteak… hot dog?

Full disclosure: this is our favorite Hot Dog of the Month from GCH in a LONG time! The peppers and onion were on point and very flavorful; they mixed perfectly with the cheese and ribeye, giving it that distinct cheesesteak flavor. The hot dog, surprisingly, didn’t really clash with the overall flavor or bite of the dish.

That’s a lot of meat!

The fries were also a standout part of the dish, with a good amount of crispiness and not too much oil. They were just right! If you love a good hot dog and a good cheesesteak, this is the meal for you. Seriously, it’s that good.

It’s surprisingly delicious!

Disneyland used to have a different version of this at Refreshment Corner, but we were very impressed with the Grand Californian’s version.
