The 2022 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is officially underway and will be taking place in the park through February 21st.
We’ve already shared a full look at the Festival merchandise, a peek at some special scavenger hunts you can do while there, and FULL reviews of every food booth. We also shared our list of picks for the Best of the Fest. But we wanted to know what YOU, our fabulous readers, like the best at this year’s Festival in terms of snacks. So we put up a poll on our Instagram with a whole bunch of different items for you all to pick from and about 13,000(!!!) of you responded. Here’s what you had to say!
We begin our DFB Festival of the Arts bracket with a battle of the sweet treats. On one side we have the Pistachio Cake from The Artist’s Table, and on the other side we have the Orange Mousse from Deco Delights. And the winner is…the Orange Mousse (by quite the margin)!
Next we have the Dulce Chocolate Mousse from Deco Delights versus the Valrhona Chocolate also from Deco Delights. The winner of this battle was the Dulce Mousse!
Time for more sweet treat battles. Up next we have the Deconstructed Key Lime Pie from Deconstructed Dish vs. the Pop’t Art from Pop Eats! In this battle, the Deconstructed Key Lime Pie was the winner, but the Pop’t Art wasn’t far behind.
In the battle between the Vanilla Donut from the Donut Box vs. the Inside Out Donut also from the Donut Box, the winner was…the Inside Out Donut! (If you want our opinion on these donuts click here — we probably would NOT vote this way but hey, everyone is different!)
Next we put the Chocolate-Dipped Donut from the Donut Box up against the Taco de Chocolate from El Artista Hambriento. The winner there was…the Chocolate Dipped Donut! Which would you pick?
Ready for more sweet battles? In this challenge the Moelleux aux Noisettes et Chocolats Valrhona: Molten chocolate and hazelnut cake from L’Art de la Cuisine Francaise went up against the Opera Cake from Pastoral Palate. Here, Disney fans voted for the Molten Cake! Will it survive next round? We’ll have to wait to find out!
The Bombolini from L’Arte di Mangiare went up against the House-made Crispy Almond Phyllo Pockets from Tangierine Cafe: Flavors of the Medina and the winner was…the Bombolini!
There are MORE sweet battles on the way. Here we’ve got the Cherry Funnel Cake from the Funnel Cakes kiosk in The American Adventure up against the Almond Frangipane Cake from Pop Eats! The race here was relatively tight but the winner was…the Almond Cake. We think the Cherry Funnel Cake is going to be pretty divisive so we can totally understand this vote.
Next was the Passion Fruit Mousse from Vibrante & Vivido: Encanto Cocina vs. the Pineapple and Cherry DOLE Whip Swirl from Refreshment Outpost. The winner here was the DOLE Whip Swirl! DOLE Whips are a popular choice — could this one make it far in this battle? That’ll be up to YOU!
Now it’s time for some COFFEE! In this battle we have the Mocha Cold Brew versus the Colorful Cold Brew, each from different Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company kiosks in the park. The winner here was the Mocha Cold Brew — which would you pick?
Continuing the coffee battle we have the Cinnamon Cold Brew up against the Rainbow Dreams Cold Brew, again each from different Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company kiosks in the park. The winner here was the Cinnamon Cold Brew — looks like those Cinnamon Squares beat out the Lucky Charms!
What would you rather sip on — the Sipping Chocolate Flight from The Artist’s Table or the Deconstructed Apple Pie a la Mode from The Deconstructed Dish? Lots of Disney fans voted and they said they’d prefer to have…the Sipping Chocolate. Drinking apple pie just wasn’t high up on some people’s must-do lists!
Next it was time for more beverages to battle. We’ve got the “Panda” Bubble Tea from The Painted Panda on one side, and the Coconut and Passion Fruit Smoothie from Vibrante & Vivido on the other side. And the winner is…the Coconut and Passion Fruit Smoothie — it’s hard to beat those bright colors!
Next up we have the Cold Fashion Coffee Cocktail from the Donut Box versus Eastern Dynasty from The Painted Panda. The winner here was pretty clearly the Eastern Dynasty.
Next we have The Lily from El Artista Hambriento and the Smoky Rosemary also from El Artista Hambriento. The winner here was The Lily by a LOT! Would you try this drink during your visit? Click here to see our review!
Then we put the Niseko Flurry from Goshiki against the Blood Orange Cosmo from Refreshment Port. The Blood Orange Cosmo got the votes here, but the Niseko Flurry wasn’t too far behind.
Getting into the more savory dishes, we had the Beef Wellington from The Artist’s Table against the Beef Short Rib from Pastoral Palate. The winner here was the Beef Short Rib — better luck next time Beef Wellington!
Next, the Pate de Campagne from The Craftsman’s Courtyard battled against the Deconstructed BLT from The Deconstructed Dish. The winner here was clearly the BLT — which would YOU pick?
Then it was time for a battle of seafood! The Seared Scallops from The Artist’s Table battled against the Mussels from The Craftsman’s Courtyard. The Seared Scallops secured the victory here with 81% of the votes.
More seafood battles were then fought. In this challenge we have the Steelhead Trout from The Craftsman’s Courtyard against the Chilled Lobster Bisque Mousse (what we’ve termed “Lobster Jello”) from L’Art de la Cuisine Francaise. And it was actually a TIE…well, sort-of! The votes were so close that the Instagram poll shows it as a tie, but when we took a look at the actual votes in terms of numbers the winner was the Steelhead Trout with 6,205 votes. The Chilled Bisque had 6,086 votes — so close!!
Next we had the Deconstructed French Onion Soup from The Deconstructed Dish vs. the Wild Mushroom Risotto from Gourmet Landscapes. The French Onion Soup won here with 60% of the votes (don’t worry Wild Mushroom Risotto, we still love you!).
Next up we had some meat battle it out. This challenge was between the Huarache Verde from El Artista Hambriento and the Carne Asada also from El Artista Hambriento. The Carne Asada won here with 78% of the vote — a big win!
Next up the Beet Carpaccio from Gourmet Landscapes battled against the Warm Brie in a Bread Bowl from L’Art de la Cuisine Francaise and the winner was CLEARLY the Warm Brie (we can’t say we disagree).
Then it was time for a battle between some more unique and creative dishes — the Bone Marrow from Gourmet Landscapes versus Wild Boar Cassoulet from Pastoral Palate. The winner here was the Wild Boar Cassoulet with 68% of the votes. Could this unique dish take it all the way?
Up next we have the Chicken Kushiage from Goshiki versus the Char Siu Pork Bun from The Painted Panda. The Pork Bun won with 54% of the vote!
Fried risotto or carrots? That was our next battle — the Arancini from L’Arte di Mangiare versus the Carrots Three Ways from Tangierine Cafe: Flavors of the Medina. Looks like the fried food wins here with the Arancini getting 81% of the votes!
Next it was the Chicken Shumai from The Painted Panda versus the ever popular Sushi Donut from Goshiki. Though the sushi donut has been a favorite of fans in the past, the Chicken Shumai won this round!
Which grilled cheese dish is best at the Festival of the Arts? We had to find out so we put the Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese up against the Tomato Soup and Bacon, Apple, and Brie Grilled Cheese, both from Pop Eats! Fans were split here and the vote on Instagram showed as a 50/50 TIE! We took a closer look at the actual number of votes and saw that 6,669 people voted for the regular grilled cheese while 6,642 voted for the Bacon, Apple, and Brie version. That means the regular grilled cheese wins this round — sometimes you can’t beat a classic!
In the battle between the Ravioli alla Boscaiola from L’Arte di Mangiare and the Spicy Ajiaco Soup from Vibrante & Vivido, the winner was…the Ravioli!
Then we put the Chorizo and Potato Empanada (one of our faves!) from Vibrante & Vivido against the Plant-Based Bratwurst from Refreshment Outpost. The Chorizo and Potato Empanada was the clear winner and truly was an incredibly tasty dish!
What bread items should you get at the Festival? There are a few to choose from. Between the Croissant à la Truffe Noire d’Hiver: Black winter truffle croissant from L’Art de la Cuisine Francaise and the Moroccan Bread with Hummus, Fig Tapenade, and Zhoug Dip from Tangierine Cafe: Flavors of the Medina, our readers picked…the Moroccan Bread!
And finally, the Gnocchi Poutine from Refreshment Port battled against the Grilled Kebabs from Tangierine Cafe: Flavors of the Medina. In this battle, the Poutine won!
WHEW. That was quite the bracket! What item will ultimately win it ALL and be deemed the Best of the Fest by our readers? Visit our Instagram to vote during the upcoming bracket days and stay tuned for more results!
