Disney announced today that the construction on the Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa would begin on March 1. This is part of the planned expansion for the resort.
From the Disney Travel Agent Site:
“As we previously shared, we are working on our grand plans to expand and enhance The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
Beginning March 1, Guests will notice construction and refurbishment work at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa during daytime hours. Most resort amenities will remain available to Guests throughout this work.”
The expansion is part of an effort to add 200 more Disney Vacation Club suites to the property. The Big Pine Key building will become host to the Disney Vacation Club, turning its rooms into resort studios that sleep up to five guests. Big Pine Key is on the east side of the main building at the resort and faces Seven Seas Lagoon.
