Magic Kingdom
- Disney Fairy Tale Weddings aired a fashion show today, taken place in Magic Kingdom, that revealed their 2022 line of Disney Princess-inspired wedding gowns, as well as a new 50th anniversary dress.
EPCOT
- Test Track at EPCOT closed early yet again today.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- After being out of stock for over a month and distributing plastic bags (with a discount) instead, Savi’s Workshop has lightsaber cases again.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- In honor of “The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild” on Disney+, a new sand sculpture is being constructed at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
- A few months after we learned “Finding Nemo: The Musical” is permanently closed and will be replaced by a new “Finding Nemo” show, one of the Theater in the Wild signs has been removed in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
- Dr. Mark Penning revealed on Instagram a babirusa piglet named Nutmeg, who has made her onstage debut at Disney’s Animal Kingdom after a few months backstage with mom.
- Various refurbishments are underway in the courtyard of DINOSAUR at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
- During The Walt Disney Company’s First Quarter 2022 Financial Results Conference Call, Disney CEO Bob Chapek was quoted saying that Disney is “pleased with the demand” for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, the newest upcoming Walt Disney World Resort.

- At least five people were arrested for carrying a concealed firearm at Walt Disney World toward the end of 2021, according to Orange County Sheriff’s Office records released this week.
Disneyland Resort
- Three new wands inspired by Olaf, Tinker Bell, and Sorcerer Mickey are now available at Disneyland Resort. We found the bubble and glow wands at Fantasy Faire Gifts in Disneyland.
- We headed on over to Black Tap at Downtown Disney District to try the new Magic Shake, a new drink available for Magic Key Holder Celebration Month.
Disneyland Paris
- Disneyland Paris has announced and revealed several new offerings for their upcoming 30th anniversary celebration. Two fan-favorite restaurants will be reopening with updated menus and there will be two character-inspired ice cream treats.
- Disneyland Paris also revealed more merchandise that will be available during their 30th anniversary beginning next month.
- Today Disneyland Paris revealed new concept art for “Disney D-Light,” which will take place on Sleeping Beauty Castle every evening from March 6.

- Today, we came upon this Enchanted Tiki Room-themed Loungefly bag in the Creations Shop at EPCOT.
Entertainment and Media
- Disney Fairy Tale Weddings revealed their 2022 dress collections by Allure Bridal during a fashion show streamed this morning. Good Morning America also shared some photos and concept sketches of the gowns.
- Disney Fairy Tale Weddings also revealed a special dress inspired by the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World, made to resemble the “Beacons of Magic.” Fans can now enter to win their own bespoke 50th anniversary wedding gown through Good Morning America.
- After a significant delay, “Women of Walt Disney Imagineering” has a new release date of March 15, 2022 — during Women’s History Month — and is available for preorder.
- Disney “Speedstorm,” the newest Pixar and Disney racing game, will be released this summer for Nintendo Switch.
Disney+
- Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story” will be available on Disney+ in the U.S.A. and most other countries on March 2, 2022.
- In the first quarter of 2022, Disney+ gained 11.8 million subscribers amid fears that the streaming bubble had popped.
- The Obi-Wan Kenobi “Star Wars” series — simply called “Obi-Wan Kenobi” — will debut on Disney+ on May 25.
The Walt Disney Company
- The Walt Disney Company has released their 2022 first quarter report. This financial quarter began October 3, 2021 and includes both company-wide and Disney Parks revenue. Last year, The Walt Disney Company made $16.25 billion in this quarter. This year, Disney’s total revenue was $21.82 billion, beating expectations of approximately $18.63 billion.
- The Walt Disney Company released their earnings report today, revealing a significant boom from last year’s profits for Disney Parks.
- In an interview with CNBC today, Disney CEO Bob Chapek said up to 50% of Disney Parks guests are currently utilizing Genie+.
- Disney Parks made $7.2 billion this quarter, more than doubling from last year’s first quarter.
- Disney CFO Christine McCarthy commented during the 2022 Q1 earnings call that the domestic parks have seen a “more favorable guest and ticket mix” after announcing that per capita spending rose to 40% versus Q1 2019, which was pre-pandemic.
- The latest fan-favorite film, Disney’s “Encanto,” became a worldwide phenomenon just days after it was released on Disney+, and now Disney CEO Bob Chapek is citing the newest film from Disney Animation as proof that “theatrical isn’t the only way.”
- During The Walt Disney Company’s First Quarter 2022 Financial Results Conference Call, CFO Christine McCarthy spoke on how mobile dining and check-in are considered an “upside” of Disney Parks.
- During today’s 2022 Q1 earnings call, Disney noted that the capacity of both Walt Disney World and Disneyland is still limited, but rather than due to COVID-19 safety measure constraints, it is now due to staff shortages.
- Contrary to how Disney stock dropped last month after Netflix announced mediocre subscriber growth in their Q1 report, $DIS has skyrocketed in the after-hours as their report went live.
