Everything You Need to Know About Stroller Rentals in Disney World

Is it possible to be in agony when you’re in Disney World? Ask your feet at the end of a LONG day of standing and walking in the parks! Listen, the Disney World parks (and some resorts) are VERY large, and it often takes a lot of walking to get where you need to go! If your feet feel tired, imagine how exhausted little ones must feel — those tiny legs need to take WAY more steps! And let’s be honest, we can only carry our kids for so long before we get tired, so what’s the solution? Strollers, of course!

Disney World is HUGE!

When it comes to using a stroller in Disney World, you have a lot of options. If you’re considering the idea of renting a stroller in Disney, you’ve come to the right place!

There are a couple of different ways you can bring a stroller to the parks. For many people, bringing a stroller from home just isn’t feasible, so they look to a rental service! There are two “Disney-approved” stroller rental methods, but there are TONS of third-party rental companies that you can use, too! We’ll break it all down so you can decide what works for you and your family.

Disney World Stoller Rentals

The first option is to rent a stroller directly through Disney, on Disney property. Disney offers two types of strollers: single strollers (recommended for children 50 lbs. or less) and double strollers (recommended for children 100 lbs. or less).

The single is on the left and the double is on the right!

If you decide to rent a single stroller, the price is $15 per day. For guests looking to rent a stroller for multiple days (or the length of their stay), the price goes down to $13 per day.

The single strollers are pretty narrow!

The double strollers are a little more expensive. The daily price is $31, or guests can purchase a Length of Stay rental ticket for multiple days for $27 per day. With a Length of Stay rental, you can pre-pay the number of days you plan on using a stroller to save a little money! Just show a Cast Member your receipt at the stroller rental location to receive your stroller for the day.

They have a fun Mickey graphic!

There is one important rule you need to consider when it comes to renting the Disney-owned strollers, though. Your Disney stroller CAN NOT go everywhere that you go. This means that if you plan on visiting multiple parks in one day, you’ll have to return stroller #1 as you leave the first park, then pick up a new stroller at the next park. You won’t have to pay twice, though; just show a Cast Member your rental receipt at another park for a new stroller.

There are plenty of strollers for everyone!

Additionally, Disney strollers never leave the Disney parks. You can’t take the stroller to your resort, Disney Springs, or any of the water parks. Speaking of Disney Springs, a $100 credit card deposit is required for strollers rented at Disney Springs, so keep that in mind if you need a stroller outside the parks!

Those strollers can’t travel outside the parks!

Now that you know the basics, let’s talk about where to get a stroller! Typically, Disney’s stroller rental locations are near the front entrance of the parks. You can check a map or use the My Disney Experience app for exact locations (or ask a Cast Member).

The stroller rental location in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is right in front of the park!

Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios each have one central stroller rental location, but EPCOT offers two separate rental locations at each entrance.

One of EPCOT’s stroller rental locations is by the main entrance

Pro tip: if you rent a stroller (either a Disney-owned or third-party), decorate it with something bright and colorful so that your stroller stands out!

Other Stroller Rentals

Don’t feel like you HAVE to use Disney World’s strollers, though! Often, you’ll find better deals elsewhere. If you decide to rent a stroller through a third-party service, like Buena Vista Rentals, you can take it anywhere! It’s yours to handle from place to place.

You can use a third-party company!

Disney has a “preferred provider” called ScooterBug that will drop your stroller off right at your resort. Disney Resort guests that rent through ScooterBug do not need to be present when their stroller is delivered to their hotel. Disney Cast Members will manage the delivery for you!

Bell Services at Disney’s Polynesian Resort

You can pre-order your rental through ScooterBug by visiting scooterbug.com/orlando or calling (800) 726-8284. The prices range from $11.25 per day (for a 4-day rental) to $25 per day (for a 4-day rental) depending on the stroller you choose.

Other third-party stroller rental companies state that guests must be present at their resort to pick up their stroller at the time of the drop-off.

Bring Your Own Stroller

Of course, you don’t HAVE to rent a stroller; you can bring your own! If you’re flying, make sure that your stroller fits your airline’s size requirements. Additionally, Disney states that all strollers larger than 31″ x 52″ are not permitted, or you can find out about Disney’s policy through DAS. For additional assistance, you can call Disability Services at (407) 560-2547, or send an email to [email protected].

There are so many options!

Currently, stroller wagons are also not permitted in the parks, so keep that in mind if you decide to bring a stroller!

Enchanted Tiki Room

When boarding Disney transportation, all strollers must fold on Disney busses, small boats, and parking trams. Strollers do not need to fold on the ferry boats, monorails, friendship boats, or Skyliner gondolas — unless your stroller doesn’t fit, in which case it must fold up.

Make sure your stroller folds up!

Our biggest tip for bringing your own stroller is to find one that folds up quickly and easily! There’s nothing worse than that stressful feeling of trying to fold up a stroller as you’re boarding a Disney bus with an impatient crowd behind you; we’ve all been there.

Fold your stroller up ahead of time if possible!

In some cases, we’ve seen people purchase a stroller at a nearby Wal-Mart or Target once they arrive in Disney World, too. You have a lot of options!

You can always buy a stroller in Florida!

The best thing you can do is look into your options to see what works best for you and your family. Price out a few third-party providers, or double-check that your transportation option to your Disney hotel can fit a stroller! Everyone has their own preferences depending on their situation — there’s no one-size-fits-all option.

Weigh all the options first!
