Though it has no opening date, we’re still keeping a close eye on construction of Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana,” a new walkthrough attraction coming to the World Nature section of EPCOT.
Journey of Water is one of the multiple construction projects — along with Connections Café and Eatery and Dreamer’s Point — that have overtaken the center of the park behind Spaceship Earth.
There are areas of flattened dirt where construction vehicles can drive through the site.
Journey of Water promises interactive water features, so several structures are being built.
Among the structures are a square building and a long wall next to it (right in the photo above), which has recently been encased in concrete.
A rectangular wall is at an angle nearby.
An excavator sits on a mountain of dirt between these walls. A fresh trench has been dug below it and large black pipes can be seen in the ground.
Another long curved wall is to the left. It has several small concrete boxes on the ground in front of it.
A long trench runs just behind the construction walls in the World Nature neighborhood. Pipes and poles stick out of it at various points.
Orange net fencing surrounds the trenches for the safety of workers.
A large piece of black pipe was sitting behind some orange barriers near the original structure built for the project.
Another structure is coming together in the ground. After being surrounded by concrete, crew members are now working on a platform or the base of a second structure next to it.
This structure is surrounded by both corrugated and flat metal.
Construction materials sit on the ground above.
