FIRST LOOK: Jiko Has Finally Reopened in Disney World!

It’s that time! We’re headed to another Disney World restaurant reopening!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

Most of Disney World’s restaurants have reopened by now, but there are still a few that remain closed. Today, we’re headed to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge to check out the reopening of Jiko! We’ve already experienced other popular restaurants at this resort including Boma and Sanaa, but now it’s Jiko’s turn for the spotlight!

Atmosphere

When you arrive at the restaurant, you check in for your reservation. You can use Mobile Check-in through the My Disney Experience app, but we walked up to the host stand this time just to tell them that we had arrived. When our table was ready, it was time to go in!

Time to Go!

When you step inside the restaurant, you’ll notice plenty of details that reflect African culture. The lighting against the wall sets a lovely ambiance.

It’s So Pretty!

Take a look at the ceiling where you’ll find what appear to be birds in flight!

How Beautiful

And you won’t want to miss the hidden Mickey in the ceiling!

See It?

When you sit down you’ll find a lovely napkin and more at your table.

Plus you’ll get a fancy towel to clean your hands!

Fancy Living

Now that we’ve admired the lovely space, it’s time to talk FOOD.

Eats and Drinks

Let’s take a look at Jiko’s menu to see what they offer! There are a few appetizers including a salad, wild boar, and a unique flatbread.

Menu

The entrees feature everything from chicken to lamb to filet mignon! The menu also includes three enhancements you can add on to your meal.

Jiko also has five desserts to choose from.

There are ALL sorts of drink options including Loose Leaf Specialty Teas, Kenyan Coffee, Dessert Wines, After-Dinner Drinks, and more!

Jiko Menus

And for the kiddos there’s a special menu with activities and food items just for them.

Kids Menu

There are some kids drinks, appetizers, and a create-your-own-meal situation.

Now let’s get into our order! For our meal, we grabbed the Seychelles Martini and Kanu Old Fashioned.

Our Drinks

Then we dug into the bread that is provided here, which is giraffe bread with rice flour on top, an Egyptian flatbread with sesame seeds, and Jiko butter and black salt!

Bread

We chose the Braised Wild Boar Tenderloin, Seared Scallops with Nhopi and Groundnuts, and the Duck Confit and Honey-Raisin Flatbread.

Appetizers

We’ll be grabbing some entrees and more too (of course). We’ll update this post with some more photos and/or videos for you to enjoy and we’ll be sharing a FULL review soon so stay tuned for that. In the meantime, we’ll keep you updated on the latest updates in Disney World!
