Flying On Frontier Airlines Will Cost A Little MORE Soon — Here’s Why

Although the global health crisis has affected travel over the past few years, Orlando International Airport is starting to see more passengers flying into and out of the airport, especially now that some airlines have reintroduced routes into the city.

Airplane

One of those airlines is Frontier Airlines, which not only resumed flights back into the airport in 2020 but also added 13 new routes. But now some changes are happening with the airline that passengers will need to know about.

Those changes are with the airline’s baggage weight requirements and fees. According to the Frontier Airlines website, any ticket purchased on or after January 18th for travel on or after March 1st will be subject to a baggage requirement of 40 pounds.

This means that any bag that weighs 41 lbs. or more will be charged an overweight bag fee, which is $50 for bags that weigh from 41 to 50 lbs. and $100 for bags that weigh 51 to 100 lbs. Any bags that weigh over 100 lbs. will not be accepted.

The previous weight requirement, which was 50 lbs., will still apply for tickets purchased before January 18th. So keep that in mind depending on when you booked your trip on Frontier Airlines. As always, we recommend checking with the airline if you have any questions or concerns about your upcoming flight.

We’ll continue to monitor travel-related news that could affect your trip to and from Disney World (like multiple flight cancellations), so be sure to check back with us often.
