Guests are no longer required to wear masks outdoors at Universal Studios Hollywood. All guests are still required to wear masks indoors, regardless of vaccination status. We visited Universal Studios Hollywood to see how things had changed.
Guests have been allowed to go maskless outdoors at CityWalk for some time, so signage here has remained the same.
In the theme park, we saw about half the guests outdoors wearing masks and half going without.
Signs at the entrances to the Studio Store and other indoor locations remind guests to put on a mask before entering.
The signs say “Everyone is required to wear a face covering indoors” with an illustration of a person wearing a mask.
We noticed many characters were going maskless, while some — like Fiona, above — still wore a mask.
According to a Team Member, the same rules apply to both guests and Team Members, meaning the masks are optional outdoors.
Fred, Daphne, and Velma all went without a mask, but we saw Shaggy wearing one.
Characters remain physically distanced.
Meanwhile at Universal Orlando Resort, masks are not required for any guests or fully vaccinated Team Members.
