Does anyone else dream of those warm summer months when you can chill at the pool all day? Is anyone else sick of the cold weather and snowy conditions? There aren’t very many places in the U.S. that stay warm enough for a wintertime trip to the pool, but sunny Orlando Florida is a rare (and magical) exception. Looking to hit the pool during your next trip to Disney World?
Saratoga Springs
If you’re staying at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort soon, you might want to keep this news in mind!
Starting on Monday, February 14th, the Grandstand pool at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort will be closed for refurbishment.
One of the pools will be temporarily closed!
According to information from the Disney World website, the pool will remain closed through mid-March 2022. In the meantime, you and your family can trot over to one of the resort’s other pools, like the High Rock Spring Pool or The Paddock Pool.

Disney also notes that during this time, guests in the area might hear some construction noise. Luckily, there is a designated quiet time between dusk and 9AM so that guests will not hear any construction in the evening.

Typically, Disney tends to work on its pool refurbishments in the winter. Over at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, the Flippin Fins pool is also currently closed for refurbishment, and the Samawati Springs Pool at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas will remain closed through April 2022.

The good news is that Disney typically gives guests other options when closing a pool for an extended refurbishment. Even as Blizzard Beach remains closed for the season, Typhoon Lagoon is currently open for guests looking for a little water park fun this winter.

Although this little closure might not seem like a huge deal, it’s better to be prepared for a temporary closure than to visit the resort and be surprised! It can feel pretty disappointing when you realize a nearby pool won’t be available during your trip. We’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news and park updates, so stay tuned for more!
