- We got to try our favorite treat from last year, the Mardi Gras Vanilla Cake with Cinnamon Swirl at the TODAY Café again.
- Some new coasters are now on sale at the Mardi Gras Tribute Store.
Universal’s Islands of Adventure
- Scaffolds are up over at Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls as its annual refurbishment begins.
- “The Making of the Jurassic World VelociCoaster” is now available to stream free on YouTube.
- We found a new Honeyduke’s souvenir cup you can use to house your Harry Potter treats.
Universal Orlando CityWalk
- A new Diagon Alley Loungefly backpack has apparated into the Universal Studios Store.
- Choo choo! We also found a Hogwarts Express ticket-themed tray this week at the Universal Studios Store.
- Over at the Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen, they’ve rolled out a new Mardi Gras Rhythm & Shake Ube Ice Cream Shake (try saying that three times fast) for the season that we just had to try!
Universal’s Volcano Bay
- Volcano Bay was closed on February 9, and will again be closed on February 14 due to inclement weather.
Other Universal Orlando News
- Guests are no longer required to wear masks at Universal Orlando Resort, indoors or outdoors. Unvaccinated guests are “encouraged” to continue masking indoors.
- Vaccinated Team Members are also no longer required to wear masks at Universal Orlando Resort, indoors or out.
- Grad Bash will finally return to Universal Orlando Resort this year.
- Our February 9 photo report spent quite a bit of time at Islands of Adventure, including refurbishment walls at the Hogwarts Express, introduced a new Loungefly backpack, and more.
- It’s well worth a trip over to Universal’s Endless Summer Resort to try these new beignets with a caramel bourbon sauce!
- Grad Bash will finally return to Universal Orlando Resort this year.
Universal Studios Hollywood
- The State of California is lifting its statewide mask mandate next week, although the local order in Los Angeles County will remain in effect.

- Those holding an Annual Pass can pick up a new Pass Member button at the Universal Studios Store within the park.
- Construction on the Universal CityWalk Hollywood outpost of Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen is ramping up.

- The new trailer for “Jurassic World: Dominion” dropped this week, featuring the return of several characters from the original “Jurassic Park”.
- The director of “Back to the Future: The Ride” and visual effects pioneer Douglas Trumbull passed away this week at the age of 79.
