Technology is great and all…until it isn’t. Like the rest of the world, Disney has started relying on technology for pretty much everything! From booking Genie+ reservations to checking out in a gift shop, we need our phones to do a LOT of things in the parks and resorts. But every once in a while, technology fails us and we’re left feeling a little stranded!
These pesky computers!
What happens when the very technology we rely on goes down? Let’s show you!
On February 19th, we were walking through the parks and looking for a little snack when we discovered that Disney’s Mobile Order system went down. Noooo!
We just wanted a little snack, is that so much to ask?!
We received this message on the My Disney Experience app when we tried to place an order: “Mobile ordering is unavailable at this time. Please check back later. We apologize for any inconvenience.” Umm…now what?!

Typically when this happens, Disney switches over to the old system where guests place a face-to-face order with a Cast Member, and that’s what we did!
We had to wait in line instead!
Whatever the issue was, it seems to have impacted BOTH coasts; Disneyland’s Mobile Order system was down, too!

By February 20th, the issue was fixed and Mobile Order was back up and running! It’s instances like this, though, that remind us how much we rely on technology in the parks — and what a pain it can be when we have to revert to the old way of doing things!
