You’ve already stuffed yourself with fried chicken from Homecomin’, sweets from Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew, and grabbed some cookies from Gideon’s Bakehouse. But soon there will be a NEW spot to add to your Disney restaurant list.
We’ve already seen a number of new spots open in Disney World, including Steakhouse 71 over at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. But recently Disney announced a brand new restaurant that will be joining the crew over at Disney Springs!
Recently Disney announced via Twitter that a brand NEW restaurant called Local Green Atlanta will be opening their doors in Disney Springs in March!
According to Disney, the restaurant will bring “culture, hip-hop, and fresh healthy greens” all in one bite! Local Green Atlanta’s own Twitter notes that they are a spot that specializes in vegan, vegetarian, and pescatarian options.
The Local Green Atlanta website shows a menu consisting of options like Cajun “Air” Fries, “Dumbo” Mexican Street Corn, and a “Salmon Philly Quesadilla.”
This restaurant reminds us a bit (in terms of some general concepts) of Beatrix, the restaurant that had been previously announced for Disney Springs which was set to feature healthy food options like vegetarian and vegan dishes. Though construction on that restaurant had started, it was later paused.
Early last year, a representative for the company that owns Beatrix had indicated that the project had not been canceled but that Disney and the company had agreed to return the property to a “green space” until construction resumes. We really haven’t heard any updates on Beatrix for quite some time now.
Disney has not yet announced where the new Local Green Atlanta restaurant will be opening in Disney Springs, what the exact menu will be, or the exact opening date, but we’ll be on the lookout for more details! Be sure to check back with us for all the latest news!
