REVIEW: Annual Passholder-Exclusive Spiked Affogato from Guido’s Gelato is a Mardi Gras Must Have at Universal Studios Florida

We have reviews for every food and drink item from Mardi Gras 2022 at Universal Studios Florida, but there’s still one more Annual Passholder exclusive left to try. UOAPs can find an Affogato and Spiked Affogato at Guido’s Gelato outside of Louie’s Italian Restaurant. This is also where you can find the Italy Booth for Mardi Gras. It’s a busy day and we could use some caffeine, so let’s give the Spiked Affogato a try!

Spiked Affogato – $12

Vanilla gelato, Espresso, and Kahlua

Whether you start your day with a Spiked Affogato or use it as for an afternoon pick-me-up, this is a must have. The gelato at Guido’s is phenomenal and adding Espresso is a game changer. Throw in some Kahlua and you have the perfect combination for a good time!

The vanilla gelato is really creamy and blends well with the espresso and Kahlua. Every sip is absolutely delicious. Grab a spiked affogato and take a seat along the water for a well deserved break from the crowds, you deserve it.

We highly recommend that Annual Passholders make a stop at Guido’s Gelato for this Spiked Affogato. For another way to enjoy espresso in the park, check out our Hot Butterbeer and Espresso snack hack.

Let us know in the comments if you’ll be giving this a try on your next trip to Universal Studios Florida!

Disney’s Boardwalk Inn Recreation Cast Members Dance Along to ‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno’

A guest spotted two poolside recreation Cast Members at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn putting on quite the fun show as they danced along to the hit song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from Disney’s “Encanto”.

The TikTok shows off the two recreation Cast Members as they showed off their dance moves to the adoring swimmers in the pool, with most stopping to watch the well-choreographed duo. There was even a clever use of a towel as a prop during the early half of the song as the pair went above and beyond to create a fun experience for the guests of the day.

Pool staff have shown up singing “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” in the past, with Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Lifeguards having made a TikTok on the official Disney Parks account late last month.

What did you think of these two Cast Members’ synchronized routine? Let us know in the comments below!

Guests Go Maskless Indoors at Universal Studios Hollywood as New Policy Begins

Yesterday, Universal Studios Hollywood quietly altered their mask policy to allow fully-vaccinated guests to not wear masks when indoors, so naturally we took a stroll down to the park to see the new policy in effect.

Guests visiting Universal Studios Hollywood are still required to bring their proof of vaccination or negative test against COVID-19 along with a photo ID.

It was a lovely day to be out at the park, with temperatures in the high 60s. Just a couple weeks ago, Universal Studios Hollywood relaxed their outdoor mask policy as well, but many guests choose to wear masks outside regardless.

Signs are up around the park indicating the new mask rule.

Although a number of guests continue to wear face masks indoors, outside, or both, many guests could be seen enjoying the park without a face covering.

Based on our observations, we’d venture that mask-wearers were around 50/50 indoors, while around 80% of guests outdoors were unmasked.

Are you excited to visit Universal Studios Hollywood without a mask? Let us know in the comments below!

Characters Aboard Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Aren’t Physically Distanced, Theme Park Characters Could Be Next

There’s plenty to be made from the plethora of details we’ve learned about the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, which sets off on its maiden voyage next week. But one surprising detail we’ve learned — guests interacting with any of the fifteen characters aboard the Halcyon are not physically distanced at all, a stark contrast from the experience inside the Walt Disney World theme parks.

With Walt Disney World rescinding its face covering policy around a week and a half ago, guests aboard the Halcyon nor the actors aboard need to wear face coverings if they are fully vaccinated, and many official photos and videos as well as previews from the recent media event show characters aboard the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser closely interacting with guests aboard the ship.

mickey-sighting-73-1589147

Meanwhile at all Disney theme parks worldwide, character greetings are still held at a distance away from guests, generally locked behind a rope or within a taped line. The domestic Disney parks terms these “Character Sightings”, keeping characters a safe distance away from guests to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

But with the Starcruiser allowing guests to meet and interact with characters in close proximity, this could be a sign that the last physical distancing measures at Walt Disney World and Disneyland could be on their way out. Physical distancing requirements for guests went out the door almost a year ago, and some shows like “Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire” don’t distance characters and dancers on stage.

The possibility also exists that with the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser being a closed environment with the same couple hundred people for two days rather than thousands of transient guests and an astronomical price tag, Disney does not believe they can provide an adequate premium experience for their high-roller guests with Character Sighting-like technology.

No matter what, Character Meet-and-Greets will return in the future, but the opening of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser could be a positive sign for those who long for the return of Character Meet-and-Greets at the Disney parks.
