New Vault Collection Crocs Arrive at Walt Disney World

The newest addition to the Walt Disney World Vault Collection are these pair of white crocs. Unlike the Magic Kingdom map crocs, the crocs are pretty plain looking.

Vault Collection Crocs – $69.99

The crocs are all white.

But they come with multiple Jibbitz charms, featuring retro icons of Walt Disney World.

The charms include a retro Walt Disney World flag, the state of Florida, a license plate that says “Oct. 1971” when Walt Disney World first opened, and more.

On the right side of one of the crocs is a retro Walt Disney World logo with “Opening Oct. 1971” underneath it.

You could wear these along with the matching Vault Collection MagicBand.

You can purchase these at Celebrity 5 & 10 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

You Can Now Book a Private Photo Session at Disney World’s Star Wars Hotel!

BLUE shrimp and a REAL lightsaber!? You’re going to want to be sure you have photo proof of it all when you stay at Disney World’s Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser! After all, you are paying $6,000 to be there — that earns you at least some bragging rights.

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser

The new Disney “hotel” functions a lot more like a Disney cruise as opposed to a Disney Resort, as the cost includes a 2-night stay in a cabin or suite, most food and drink onboard, admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, valet parking, and a MagicBand, there are quite a few additional things that you can add onto your trip for an extra cost. This includes things like dining at the exclusive Captain’s Table, building your own droid or lightsaber when visiting Galaxy’s Edge, or a visit to Oga’s Cantina. And, now Disney has introduced ANOTHER add-on experience!

Passengers staying at the Galactic Starcruiser can now add the Disney PhotoPass CSL Portrait Experience to their two-night adventure on the Halcyon (CSL stands for Chandrila Star Line, the starcruiser’s operator known for its fleet of glamourous starcruisers). This is a PhotoPass Capture Your Moment experience that lets you book a private photo session with your very own Disney PhotoPass photographer.

©Disney

According to Disney, the photo session promises to “capture your group’s Star Wars galaxy looks at unique places around the ship for a truly personalized photo experience.” In fact, you might even get to see some hidden spots onboard the Halcyon thanks to your “special clearance.”

Each 30-minute session also includes:

  • Consultation, image capture, and review by specially trained Cast Members, using advanced digital photography equipment and lighting
  • Downloads of all images taken during the session

©Disney

We spoke with a Disney Cast Member who shared that the 30-minute session will cost $99 initially. If you’re interested in adding the experience to your trip you can call (407) 939-7739 up to 60 days in advance. Just keep in mind that you’ll only be able to download images captured during this session for the cost and will need to purchase Memory Maker if you’d like other photos taken by PhotoPass Photographers during your voyage.

And, we’ll continue to cover EVERYTHING about Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser, so stay tuned for more news!

A Look at the Weather Forecast for Disney World in Early March

There’s a LOT to look forward to in Disney World this March! There’s the annual Flower and Garden Festival coming soon to EPCOT, the Festival of Fantasy parade, and the grand opening of the Star Wars hotel! Do you have plans to visit Disney World for any of these upcoming events?

The Tree of Life

If you’ve got a vacation to Disney World coming up during the first week of March, you might want to check out the weather forecast in Orlando. It’s been pretty warm in Central Florida, but things can change in the blink of an eye! Luckily, we’re back this week to take a look at next week’s weather forecast in Disney World!

Weather Forecast

It feels like February FLEW by — we can’t believe it’s almost March. Last week, the temperature reached a whopping 91°, with lows in the 60s (which isn’t very low at all!!). This week, it looks like more warm water is in store!

Cinderella Castle

If the forecast is anything like it was last week in Disney World, we should be in for a GREAT week of weather. According to The Weather Channel, you can expect your days to be nice for the first week of March, with lows hovering around the 60s again next week.

February 28th

Monday, February 28th looks sunny and warm! The temperature will be close to 80° during the day, and it will go down to around 60° in the evening. That’s a pretty good way to start off the week!

©The Weather Channel | Screenshot as of February 23rd

We noticed that it looks like it might be a little windy throughout the day, so you might want to pack a lightweight jacket (maybe a zip-up hoodie?) just in case you get a little cold — especially indoors.

March 1st

On Tuesday, March 1st, the weather should be nice and warm! Based on the forecast, there’s a very low chance of precipitation, although it might be cloudy throughout the day!

©The Weather Channel | Screenshot as of February 23rd

As the week progresses, the chance of rain stays pretty low. You should still make sure to pack a poncho, umbrella, or rain jacket — in Central Florida, rain is almost always a possibility.

March 2nd

On Wednesday, March 2nd, the temperature looks almost identical to the day before! The high for the day is almost 81° and the low is 62°, which should make for a lovely and comfortable day in Disney World. We could get used to this kind of weather!

©The Weather Channel | Screenshot as of February 23rd

We also suggest that you take note of the humidity! On Wednesday, the humidity climbs from 58% to 79% throughout the day. The humidity can really make the air feel warmer (not to mention what it may do to your hair!!).

March 3rd

On Thursday, March 3rd, the temperature reaches 79°, with a 30%chance of rain. The low is 60°, with 60-70% (ish) humidity throughout the day. Look out for that wind; it’s predicted to come in at 10 to 15 mph, so pack a rain jacket.

©The Weather Channel | Screenshot as of February 23rd

On a rainy day, we suggest planning for lots of indoor activities. Take the time to sit down and eat in a nice restaurant, watch some indoor shows, or check out the gift shops!

March 4th

For Friday, March 4th, we’re expected to see the temperature reach 82°. Last week the weather was even warmer, but this week is still very comfortable! Some may argue that weather in the low 80s is the best kind of weather — and we tend to agree.

©The Weather Channel | Screenshot as of February 23rd

There’s a 17% chance of rain during the day, and there’s more partly cloudy weather predicted for Friday.

March 5th

By now, you probably know what to expect for the week. On Saturday, March 5th, there will be a high of 83° and a low of 62°. It might be a little windy again on Saturday, so keep that in mind when deciding what to wear.

©The Weather Channel | Screenshot as of February 23rd

Speaking of outfits, make sure to bring a few different pairs of shoes! With the nice weather we’re seeing, you might be tempted to wear sandals, but make sure your sandals are appropriate for walking long distances and standing.

March 6th

Finally, Sunday, March 6th ends the week with a high of 84° and a low of 62° at night. The forecast calls for sunny conditions, so pack some sunglasses!

©The Weather Channel | Screenshot as of February 23rd

This week’s forecast looks very nice — fingers crossed it stays like this!

Overview of the Week

Here is a full overview of the week courtesy of The Weather Channel. The temperature will range between 79-84° during the day, then drop to the low 60s at night. Keep in mind that the weather predictions can change, but for now, this overview should give you an idea of what to expect.

©The Weather Channel | Screenshot as of February 23rd

We checked a few other websites, like Click Orlando News 6…

©Click Orlando | Screenshot as of February 23rd

…and WESH 2 News. It looks like everyone is reporting fairly similar forecasts.

©WESH 2 NEWS | Screenshot as of February 23rd

Remember that Florida weather can change very quickly! Keep your eyes on the forecast so you know what to expect each day. And if it rains, don’t lose all hope; the rain can blow through pretty quickly.

How Should You Plan?

Now, let’s look at a few ways you prepare for the week ahead!

Pack a park bag!

Even if you travel light, having a small backpack or fanny pack can come in VERY handy in the parks! Toss a light jacket in your bag and maybe some trading pins; you’ll thank yourself later.

A small backpack can make a BIG difference!

Don’t forget a portable charger for your phone! Trust us, you’ll need it.

Click here to see the twelve essentials you NEED in your Disney World park bag!

Bring water!

Disney’s bottled water is ridiculously overpriced. Unless you don’t mind popping in and out of quick-service locations all day for free cups of water, we recommend bringing a case of bottled water. It’s cheaper, easier, and faster.

$5.50? In this economy? No way!

You can purchase a case of water from a local grocery store and have it delivered to your hotel, too!

What Items from Amazon Can You Have Delivered to Your Resort Hotel?

That covers this week’s update on next week’s weather! If you’ve got a vacation coming up, we hope you have tons of fun in the sun at Disney World in March! As always, stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney tips!

REVIEW: Your One Stop Shop for Pizza AND Cheesecake is BACK in Disneyland!

If you’ve ever had the pleasure of strolling down a boardwalk, you know that pizza is kind of a boardwalk staple. It’s one of those classic combinations that just makes sense, like Dole Whip in Adventureland or popcorn at the movies! Over at Disney California Adventure, we recently celebrated the reopening of Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta (FINALLY!), but after all that time away, how does the pizza taste at this newly reopened quick service location?

Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta reopened!

While we wait for the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival to begin, we figured we’d try some pizza to hold us over! Will this restaurant give us the happy feelings of being on the boardwalk on a sunny summer evening, or will it be a total flop? Let’s find out!

Over in the Paradise Gardens Park area, Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta serves (drumroll, please) a selection of pizzas, pasta, and salads (DUH!). This location has been closed for a while, but we’re happy to see it finally serving up slices again!

We could go for a slice of pizza!

The pizza here is kind of expensive — it’s $41.99 for a whole Pepperoni Pizza. Instead, we ordered a single slice of Pepperoni Pizza for $8.49. No surprises here; it’s pretty much just a regular pepperoni pizza with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and slices of pepperoni. It tastes pretty much the same as the pepperoni pizza served at Alien Pizza Planet.

Pepperoni, obviously

We had to try another slice, for science, of course, so we ordered the specialty pizza! When we visited, it was Shrimp Scampi pizza, and one slice was $8.99. This was a cheese pizza topped with shrimp and all the goodies you typically find in shrimp scampi. We enjoyed this pizza; interestingly, the combination of shrimp and pizza worked.

Shrimp Scampi pizza

We found the shrimp a little hard to bite, so we can’t necessarily vouch for restaurant-quality shrimp here. That said, if you like seafood, you’ll probably enjoy a slice of this pizza. A whole Shrimp Scampi pizza is $43.99 (which probably isn’t worth it in our opinion).

This was pretty good!

For dessert, we ordered the Cinnamon Roll Cheesecake for $5.99. As you can probably infer from the name, this was a cheesecake topped with cream cheese and cinnamon. The bottom is a thin layer of cake — it reminded us of coffee cake.

Cinnamon Roll Cheesecake

This cheesecake lived up to (and maybe even PASSED) our expectations! The sweet flavor was heavenly, and the slight hint of cinnamon added a little extra something to the classic dessert. If you have a sweet tooth, you will probably enjoy this treat — we loved it!

YUM!

It’s always exciting to see a restaurant reopen, so we were so happy to see this little spot back up and running! Be sure to stay tuned for more food reviews and Disney news!

Disney+ Becomes Home of All Things ‘Ice Age’

If you’re looking to watch something from the “Ice Age” franchise, look no further than Disney+ because everything “Ice Age” is now on the Disney streaming platform.

Last month, the newest addition to the “Ice Age” franchise, “The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild” debuted on Disney+. Watch the full trailer below.

The spinoff focuses on the possum brothers Crash and Eddie as well as the title character, Buck Wild the weasel, voiced by Simon Pegg. Together, they will have to face the monstrous dinosaurs of the Lost World.

Also recently announced is the newest “Ice Age” series called “Ice Age Scrat Tales” featuring our favorite squirrel, Scrat. Scrat is now a father and the series is all about his new transition into fatherhood. You can start streaming this new series of shorts starting on April 13, exclusively on Disney+.

A new “Ice Age” sand sculpture was also recently built outside of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This is the first sand sculpture built at Walt Disney World that is inspired by a Fox property. Below is a timelapse of the creation of the sculpture.
