• Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire finally made its grand debut in front of Cinderella Castle as part of the 50th Anniversary celebration, and we have full photos and videos!

EPCOT

• Queue signs were installed today outside Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
• Signage for Magnolia Terrace was installed today ahead of the 2022 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.
• Our February 20 photo report highlights the installation of interactive Fab 50 features, the return of Anna & Elsa, and much more!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

• The former Out of the Wild gift shop has been transformed into seating.
• Grey kangaroos have returned to the park today along with a new joey!
• Jewelry-making has also returned to Windtraders Shop in Pandora.

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser

• Good Morning America took a sneak preview aboard the new Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser this morning as the media embargo lifted.
• We now have a full list of characters guests will encounter aboard their Halcyon voyage as well.
• Disney released a smattering of pictures showing off characters and locales within the Starcruiser this morning as well.
• The D3-O9 droid aboard the Starcruiser is also acting as a sort of test for new artificial intelligence capabilities.
• One criticism we have already, however, is that Rey’s swap from the “real” lightsaber to the prop used for her duel with Kylo Ren is a bit sloppy.
• We were quite impressed with the articulated Rodian character guests can encounter aboard the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.
• And there’s really quite a bit of advanced, cutting-edge technology supporting the story.

Other Walt Disney World News

• Operating hours have been extended at all four Walt Disney World theme parks during March 2022.

Tokyo Disney Resort

• Tokyo Disney Resort today celebrated a milestone 800 millionth guest visiting their parks since 1983!
• The resort will also release a new film canister popcorn bucket themed to “Toy Story” on March 31.

Disneyland Paris

• The long-awaited refurbishment of Disney Village is set to begin this year.
• Eurostar direct service between London and Disneyland Paris will finally return to service on March 25.
• Disneyland Paris gave a sneak peek into the manufacturing process for their 30th Anniversary Cast Member name tags.

New Merchandise

• Guests visiting the Disneyland Resort can pick up a massive puppet theatre and add-on set of Mickey & Friends finger puppets.
• Also available at the Disneyland Resort is a new 2022 dated snowglobe.
• Lounging can be even more comfortable and green now with a special “The Princess and the Frog” loungewear set we found at Disneyland Park.

Entertainment & Media

Movies

• The long-rumored new “Haunted Mansion” film will be released in spring 2023, according to Deadline.

Music

• A new single penned by Billie Eilish and Finneas debuted today ahead of the March 11 debut of “Turning Red” on Disney+.

Publishing

• A new comic book adaptation of the first season of “The Mandalorian” will be published starting in June.

Harry Potter Ultimate Movie Quiz – $43

We came upon this new game on a recent visit to CityWalk at Universal Orlando Resort.

The game contains 1600 trivia questions, spanning all eight movies.

The box dares you to put your Harry Potter film knowledge to the test! “The Ultimate Movie Quiz will determine who are the real Harry Potter fans!” it proclaims.

Spin the spinner to see which movie you’ll need to answer a question from. You could get The Philosopher’s Stone (better known here as the Sorcerer’s Stone), The Chamber of Secrets, The Prisoner of Azkaban, The Goblet of Fire, The Order of the Phoenix, The Half Blood Prince, The Deathly Hallows Part 1 or The Deathly Hallows Part 2.

The backs of the cards feature the theatrical poster art for the corresponding films.

Players age six and up can enjoy this Harry Potter trivia game.

The game box looks like a briefcase.

You can also show off your house pride with these new t-shirts and bring sweets from Honeydukes home with you as well.

Disney has released a new original song from the upcoming Pixar film “Turning Red”, called “Nobody Like U” and performed by the fictional boy band 4*Town, on YouTube and music streaming services ahead of the film’s March 11 debut on Disney+.

The single was penned by sibling duo and Grammy award-winners Billie Eilish and Finneas. “Nobody Like U” has a very 2000s boy band sound and is performed by five hit artists who portray the boy band in the film — Jordan Fisher, Josh Levi, Topher Ngo, Finneas O’Connell, and Grayson Villanueva. Two other songs written by the duo and performed by the fictional boy band, “1 True Love” and “U Know What’s Up”, will also be available on the film’s soundtrack.

You can listen to “Nobody Like U” on Apple Music and Spotify now.

Disney and Pixar’s “Turning Red” introduces Mei Lee (voice of Rosalie Chiang), a confident, dorky 13-year-old torn between staying her mother’s dutiful daughter and the chaos of adolescence. Her protective, if not slightly overbearing mother, Ming (voice of Sandra Oh), is never far from her daughter—an unfortunate reality for the teenager. And as if changes to her interests, relationships and body weren’t enough, whenever she gets too excited (which is practically ALWAYS), she “poofs” into a giant red panda! Directed by Academy Award® winner Domee Shi (Pixar short “Bao”) and produced by Lindsey Collins “Turning Red” releases on March 11, 2022 exclusively on Disney+.

Tokyo Disney Resort today commemorated their 800 millionth guest to visit Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea since the first park opened on April 15, 1983.

Unlike previous reveals, the lucky guest was not part of the photo op and details were not released about who they were, which park they visited, or what time they arrived. Picture in the photo are of course Mickey and Minnie along with Oriental Land Co. President & COO Kenji Yoshida, Tokyo Disney Resort Ambassador Mika Ogasawara, and Walt Disney Attractions Japan President George Gross.

Due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, this is the longest stretch between 100 million guests visiting the resort since 2002-2006. Tokyo Disney Resort celebrated 700 million guests on July 31, 2017, and 600 million guests on April 12, 2014.

As of today, guests visiting Universal Studios Hollywood are officially no longer required to wear masks indoors provided they are fully vaccinated.

The new policy quietly went into effect today, per the Orange County Register. Universal Studios Hollywood’s website reads that guests should be prepared to show proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test to enter the park in compliance with the Los Angeles County Public Health Order, and that masks are required indoors for unvaccinated guests. Masks are still required indoors regardless of vaccination status in all Universal CityWalk Hollywood establishments.

These changes come into place after Los Angeles County relaxed some of their guidelines today, removing most indoor mask mandates but keeping a proof of vaccination check requirement in place. Earlier this month, the outdoor mask mandate was lifted at the park as well.
