PLAY Airline Will Begin Flying to Orlando International Airport in September

Disney World sees millions and millions of visitors every single year!

Magic Kingdom

A good chunk of those guests make their way to Disney World by way of the Orlando International Airport (MCO) — it was ranked one of the top ten busiest airports in the US! We’re looking forward to the addition of a train that can take guests directly from the airport to Disney, and we’ve seen updates like new bus transportation, too! But today we’re bringing you an update about another form of transportation — airplanes!

Start booking your hotels now! According to a post on the Orlando International Airport’s Twitter, a new airline will be making its way to MCO on September 30th, 2022!

©PLAY

PLAY, the new airline, will fly direct from Reykjavík, Iceland, and Orlando marks PLAY’s fourth US destination! Boston, Baltimore/Washington D.C., and New York will also be destinations for the airline.

Orlando International Airport

Part of the reason this is now possible is due to the addition of Airbus A321neo Long Range aircraft to the fleet. These planes have more fuel capacity, thus making the flight to Orlando possible! Check out the post from Orlando International Airport below.

We’re always looking out for the latest news that could impact your next Disney vacation, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more!

Painting of Hills Ongoing at Mickey’s Toontown in Disneyland

Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland will close for a reimagining on March 8, but we’re checking on the construction we can see until then. Hills recently returned to Toontown and are now being repainted.

The flat hills are on the Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway show building, covering the warehouse-like building.

Most of the flats have been painted with white primer.

There are also some steel supports that have yet to be covered.

Some sections of the hills are painted with shades of blue.

We saw a crew member in a cherry-picker working on the hills.

Another stretch of hills is a grey-ish color.

Eventually, all the new hills will match the grassy green ones that house the Toontown sign.

As for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, we’re seeing more additions to the El CapiTOON Theater façade.

It still mostly resembles scaffolding right now, but there will eventually be a tower and marquee for guests to walk under as they enter the “theater” for the attraction.

Will you miss Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland while it’s closed? Let us know in the comments!

What’s New Magic Kingdom: Disney-Themed Candles, Minnie Ears, and MORE!

Disney World NEVER sleeps! Think you’ve seen it all? Think again! Between all the new merchandise, treats, and little theme park additions, there’s always something new.

Let’s visit the Magic Kingdom!

We visit Disney World pretty much EVERY single day, so we figured we’d share a little update on what’s new! Let’s take a look at what we found in the Magic Kingdom this week!

Magic Kingdom Food Updates

Gaston’s Tavern

Okay, so neither the Gaston’s Tavern Cinnamon Roll nor LeFou’s Brew are new, but it’s always good to do a little quality check every once in a while, right? The cinnamon roll sometimes ends up a little dry on the inside (which is what happened during our most recent tasting), but the colossal size and sweet cinnamon flavor make up for this treat’s faults. (DFB Hack: Ask for extra icing! It makes the cinnamon roll MUCH better!!)

A little Q.C….for science

As for LeFou’s Brew, we still love it! It’s a great apple-flavored drink that isn’t too sugary or heavy. You can get the cinnamon roll for $6.79 and LeFou’s Brew for $6.29. (side note: do you think Gaston shares any of the profits for LeFou’s Brew with LeFou? It is his name, after all…)

Main Street Confectionery

The Main Street Confectionery has some new hot chocolate tins! These are both cute and delicious, though they probably were meant to be released for the holidays!

These feel like they belong with the holiday merchandise!

You can grab each one for $13.99.

Big Top Treats

Disney’s Mickey-shaped souvenir cups are back!

We’re happy to see these back!

For $10.99, you can pick a slushy flavor of your choice and keep the cup!

Level Up Your Slushy Game Again — This Souvenir is BACK in Disney World!

Magic Kingdom Construction Updates

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Disney’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad attraction closed for a short refurbishment on February 14th but quickly reopened again on February 18th! As you can see, the crowds took no time to make their way back to the wildest ride in the wilderness.

Look like everyone was itching for this ride to open!

Every once in a while, Disney will temporarily close an attraction for a little routine refurbishment. Over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Expedition Everest is in the middle of a lengthy closure while Imagineers give the attraction a little extra attention.

Click here to see the Big Thunder Mountain reopening!

TRON Update

Another day, another TRON Lightcycle Run check-in!

TRON update!

This time, it looks like the canopy is making some great progress!

50th Anniversary Character Statues

It looks like Disney is installing some speakers near its 50th Anniversary gold character statues!

There are some speakers up there!

We know that Disney is planning on unveiling a new interactive element with these statues, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens!

Where To Find ALL of the 50th Anniversary Statues at Disney World

Magic Kingdom Merchandise Updates

The Emporium

Over in the Emporium, we found several new items! We don’t know about you, but we LOVE candles! This new Pooh Hunny Candle smells like (you guessed it) honey!

It smells like honey!

This one smells like a spiced apple!

Disney World is FINALLY Selling Themed Scented Candles — And We NEED Them

New Minnie ears alert! Disney just released these new Floral Minnie ears with a hydrangea flower crown. They’re super spring-y, don’t you think?

New Floral Minnie Ears

A person can never have too many baseball hats! You can buy Disney’s new Mickey and pals baseball hat for $29.99.

It’s got all our favorite characters!

We spotted two new MagicBands in the Emporium! First, there’s this cute Nemo MagicBand

“In the biiiig blue worldddd”

…and there’s also a new Winnie the pooh MagicBand.

Oh, bother!

Both are $29.99.

Frontier Trading Post

For our pin traders, we thought we’d share some updates! As part of the new collection, this Disney Arcade pin is now available for $29.99.

Do you collect the Disney Arcade pins?

There’s a new Tiana Tea Pin added to Disney’s Tea Collection! This thing sold out pretty quickly, but we’ll look out for restocks.

This sold out FAST!

For $19.99, you can grab this new Hercules pin set!

It’s a mystery pin box!

Celebrate the 50th Anniversary with Disney’s new Cinderella-themed pin for $39.99. This one is pretty expensive, but it’s also larger than some other Disney pins.

How magical!

How stinkin’ cute is this new Winnie the Pooh Balloon pin for $20?

Adorable!

Frontier Trading Post also had a new Mickey Patch with cute little daisies!

You could stick this on a pair of jeans!

We never thought we’d say this, but we found some cute (???) new Haunted Mansion merchandise. Memento Mori is selling this “There’s Always Room For One More Precious Moments figurine.

Complete with a hitchhiking ghost!

If you collect Precious Moments figures (or consider yourself a serious Haunted Mansion fan), you can buy this for $80.

Uptown Jewelers

Pandora has some new items! We found these castle earrings for $70 and this matching necklace for $150.

New necklace and earrings!

The newest Stoney Clover collection is full of character! If you’re interested in a new bag, you can pick one up at Uptown Jewelers.

New tote bag!

The prices range depending on the item, but if you aren’t planning on visiting the parks anytime soon, you can check out the full collection online!

Don’t Wait! Stoney Clover Lane’s NEW Disney Collection Just Dropped in Another Spot Online

Speaking of new accessories, the Steamboat Willie Dooney & Bourke collection debuted in the Magic Kingdom!

The collection is also available in the other Disney parks!

The collection includes a new tote bag, crossbody bag, and backpack!

Click here to check out the full collection!

There’s a new Disney Stuller collection. The items range in price, but as you can see it’s VERY expensive!

New collection!

Want to look both epic and refined (who knew it was possible to be both?!)? Check out the new Captain America watch set!

How cool is this?!

This set is $400.

Bonjour! Village Gifts

There’s a new D23 case at Bonjour! Village Gifts. For all our D23 members, this is for you!

The case had pins and a box of goodies!

Bonjour! Village gifts has so much unique art for sale — take a look next time you’re in Fantasyland!

Crystal Arts

Crystal Arts has a collection of 50th Anniversary jewelry! The new necklaces are $49

So pretty!

…and the earrings are $39.

There are new earrings, too!

This collection is super sparkly, just like the 50th Anniversary!

Tomorrowland Light & Power

We found a new Boba Fett Starship toy for $14.99. We can already imagine the missions this thing could take!

Who wants to play?

There’s also a new Boba Fett Magnet for $14.99.

New magnet

Disney’s been releasing TONS of Star Wars merchandise lately!

Star Traders

Over in Star Traders, we found this new lavender Mickey shirt for $36.99!

This one is super cool!

There was also a new pair of green Mickey joggers for $49.99.

These are BRIGHT!

You might need some sunglasses just to look at these!

Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe

Say hello to the (late) arrival of the quilted Mickey Santa hat for $29.99. It’s never too early to prepare, we guess.

Is very this early or very late?

While we’re on the subject of late arrivals, this large holiday serving bowl is $29.99!

It’s not Christmas anymore!

This holiday collection also features a set of four plates for $14.99 each. There’s a goofy plate…

Gwarsh!

Minnie

Hey, Minnie!

Donald

Cute!

…and Mickey!

We love this set!

Finally, we found a holiday mug for $19.99.

Perfect for hot cocoa!

First Look at 2022 Food & Wine Festival Booths at Disney California Adventure

The Food & Wine Festival is returning to Disney California Adventure this year from March 4 through April 26. In addition to fun activities and visits by celebrity chefs, there will be 12 food booths. Some of them have now popped up in Paradise Gardens Park.

Berry Patch has a patchwork sign on its roof.

Blue signs say “opening soon.”

A purple paisley sign advertises the festival. It says “presented by” but no brand is actually listed.

Here is the red and orange Peppers Cali-ente booth.

The side of this booth is decorated with a mural of peppers on a vine.

It’s Avocado Time at this booth.

An avocado-shaped clock sits on its roof.

The Cluck-a-Doodle-Moo booth resembles a red barn.

An abstract image of a chicken and a cow are on the side of the booth.

The Food & Wine Festival signs on this booth are cow print.

Finally is the Garlic Kissed booth, which is decorated with purple trim and images of garlic and lips.

Which of the food booths are you most looking forward to? Let us know in the comments.

PHOTOS: Trams Are BACK at Disneyland Resort!

Did you know that it’s a nearly 1-mile walk from the Disneyland parking garages to the park entrances?

Parking garage in Disneyland

At the end of a long day in the parks, that walk is not exactly fun, but parking trams had yet to return to Disneyland Park after reopening. Disney recently announced a reopening timeline for parking trams, and the day is finally here! Rest your tired feet, and check out the return of Disneyland trams here!

Since Disneyland reopened, if you parked at either the Mickey & Friends or Pixar Pals parking garages, your only option was to walk from the garages to the entrances of Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. Now you once again have the option to take a parking tram!

Trams have returned to Disneyland

You can board the parking trams in the Mickey and Friends parking lot, and they transport you to just outside the Disneyland Esplanade, where it’s a short walk to the entrances of Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.

No more walking!

The Toy Story parking lot is another option for parking, but there you receive bus service from the lot to the park entrances.

We’re excited for parking trams to return to Disneyland! Keep reading DFB for more Disney news!

DON’T go to Disneyland if you have no self-control around new Minnie Ears!
