Second ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore’ Trailer Debuts

The second trailer for “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore” is now available. This is the third film in the “Fantastic Beasts” franchise starring Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander and Jude Law as a young Albus Dumbledore. While Johnny Depp portrayed Gellert Grindelwald in the previous two films, Mads Mikkelsen is taking over the role in this installment.

The trailer opens with audio and video from “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” of an older Albus Dumbledore played by Micheal Gambon before transitioning to footage from the new film. Much of the footage is new from the previous trailer. It features returning characters, such as Jacob Kowalski, Queenie Goldstein, Yusuf Kama, and Credence Barebone. Richard Coyle portrays a young Aberforth Dumbledore, Albus’ brother. Notably absent from both trailers and promotional material so far is Katherine Waterston as Tina Goldstein, American Auror and Newt’s love interest.

Watch the trailer below.

The trailer was originally scheduled to be released on Thursday, February 24, but was delayed to be sensitive to the conflict with Russia and Ukraine.

“Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore” will hit theaters on April 15, 2022.

Why You SHOULDN’T Buy These Minnie Ears in Disney World Right Now

DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission.

Pssst! Hey! We’ve got a SECRET to save you money on one of Disney’s most popular souvenirs!

So. Many. Ears.

Lots of Disney fans collect Minnie ears, and even if you don’t have a big collection, you probably have at least considered buying a pair in the parks. Just one set of ears will usually set you back around $30 (and up to $1,000 if you can believe it). But what if we told you there was a way to save a THIRD of that cost?

We’re not joking — we found several Minnie ear headbands that were marked down about 30%! Where can you find these discounted ears? They won’t be in any Disney World gift shop. Instead, you’ll have to head to shopDisney (the online merchandise location).

You won’t find the discounted ears here!

The old “check shopDisney first” is a tip as old as time. Many Disney World souvenirs are available for cheaper if you purchase them through shopDisney instead of in the parks. But finding four sets of Minnie ears for $20 instead of their usual $30 is still big news.

Lots of Minnie Ears

Right now, you can get the Cranberry Red Minnie Ears for $19.98 (instead of $29.99) if you buy them online.

Cranberry ears!

These ears came to Disney World for the holidays last year and have stuck around for a while now.

A Closer Look

They’re still full price in the parks, but not on shopDisney!

Click here to buy the Cranberry Red Minnie Ears.

And if where you live is still covered in snow right now, you might need the Winter Frost Minnie Ears, which are also marked down to $19.98 from $29.99 online.

Winter Frost Ears

We first spotted these ears in the parks back in October 2021, and they sort of give us Cinderella Castle (pre-pink-makeover) vibes.

Sequin bow

Plus the neutral color scheme means these beauties will match just about any outfit you pair them with.

A controversial set of Minnie ears have been marked down to $19.98 from $29.99 as well — the Olive Minnie Ears.

Olive Ears

These ears might remind us a little bit of our grandmother’s couch material, but there’s something to be said about a trendy color scheme on a classic souvenir.

But why do they look like that?

And a bright, shiny bow in the middle can go a long way when it comes to making the slightly dull color more exciting.

Click here to buy the Olive Minnie Ears.

We all know that the best time to shop for holiday decorations is right after that holiday ends. So now is a great time to scoop up the Lunar New Year Minnie Ears, which are $19.98 online instead of $29.99.

Lunar New Year Minnie Ears

Although these ears were made for the 2022 Lunar New Year, there’s nothing stopping you from putting them away so that you’re ready to celebrate when the holiday rolls around next year!

Lunar New Year ears

Or you can keep them out as a gorgeous pair of red, embroidered ears that suit any occasion.

Shrek 4-D Signage Removed from Universal Studios Florida

Signage for Shrek 4-D has been removed from its old soundstage in Universal Studios Florida. The attraction was permanently closed as of January 10, 2022.

Imagineering’s Impressive Droid AI Assistant D3-O9 Is Only in Testing, May Not Appear on Your Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Voyage

D3-O9, the artificially intelligent droid that guests can speak to on screens aboard Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, may not be available on every cruise.

star-wars-galactic-starcruiser-d3-o9
Artist concept only: D3-O9 is droid guests may see appear on viewscreens onboard the Halcyon starcruiser during their stay aboard Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, the two-night immersive vacation experience debuting March 1, 2022, at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. (Disney/Lucasfilm Ltd.)

D3 is not only a test for things to come but also still being playtested herself. Disney states, “At this time, D3-O9 will be only available for a limited test period.” As D3 is tweaked, it’s possible she will be completely unavailable for some time, or available in a limited capacity.

D3-O9 does not appear in-person like most of the ship’s characters but is accessible on video screens throughout the Halcyon, including in guest cabins. Read more about her.

The Average Cost to Fly to Orlando in April of 2022

A Disney World trip is EXPENSIVE. Between the tickets, hotel, and food, you can easily spend thousands. But we can’t forget about one additional cost — your flight to get there (if you’re flying that is).

Airplane

Each month we take a look at the average cost to fly to Disney World. We’ve already taken a look at those flight costs for March, but now it’s time to look a little further and see just what to expect when it comes to April flight costs! Grab those budget sheets. It’s time to get planning!

Our Method

Just as we’ve done in previous months, we’ll be using a specific method when it comes to our calculations. Just what have we done? Well, we’ll explain it! First of all, we only looked at the average cost for flights from a select number of airports within the U.S. to Orlando International Airport (MCO) in April of 2022. If we looked at flight costs for all of the airports in the U.S. or international ones we’d be here ALL day, so we limited our search to just a few.

A Look at Some Airplane Seats

In terms of the dates, we looked at a trip where the departure was on Thursday, April 21st, and the returning flight was on Monday, April 25th. This range of dates had some more expensive dates in it, coupled with some dates priced at cheaper numbers. This was based on flight costs from JFK to MCO. While the Thursday date was on the expensive side, the Monday date had a lower cost. So (ideally) that helps to balance things out.

Keep in mind that prices can vary a LOT depending on what dates you choose to fly. This year, Easter falls on April 17th, so that will likely impact flight costs, as well as any other special events or just generally busy periods. You may find that it would be cheaper for you to fly in and out of Orlando on different days, so just keep that in mind.

©Google Flights

In terms of where we got our prices from, for this post (just as we’ve done before) we got all of our prices from Google Flights, with the except of Southwest Airlines (we got those prices directly from the Southwest Website). These prices are just a snapshot of what costs might look like. Flight prices can change daily (even sometimes within a matter of hours), so things could look very different when you go to book your flight.

Our costs also just reflect pure ticket prices. That doesn’t take into account the benefits and drawbacks that can come with flying on a certain airline. Some less expensive tickets might come with less benefits, while other more expensive tickets might be worth the additional cost for the bonuses they come with. What ticket type or airline is best for you will depend on your needs!

Luggage

Also, keep in mind that our costs below are really just base ticket prices for the most part. There are often additional fees or taxes that need to be paid, so just note that you’ll need to add on some money in your budget for that.

A few other things to note:

  • We tried to find the least expensive combination of flights (cheapest departing and cheapest returning flight). We then did the same for the most expensive flight combinations. The times of these flights and the number of layovers they may have might not work for you. They might leave really early or late or otherwise just not fit your schedule.
  • When it comes to Southwest Airlines, we stuck to the “Wanna Get Away” tickets.
  • For the airlines where we used Google Flights to get the estimated costs, keep in mind that the actual cost of your flight might be different once you go to book it on the flight’s website.
  • We limited our flight choices to ones that arrive on the same day as their departure.
  • All ticket prices are for 1 person.

Okay, enough with the disclaimers, let’s get into those costs! let’s get into the flight costs!

New York (JFK or LaGuardia)

  • Cheapest combination of flights: $359.78 from LGA (taxes and fees add an additional $74.18)

It’s getting more expensive to fly

Atlanta (ATL)

Airport

Denver (DEN)

Southwest:

  • Cheapest combination of flights: $371.87 round trip (taxes and fees are an additional $75.09)

American Airlines:

  • Cheapest combination of flights: $408 round trip
  • Most expensive combination of flights: $1,039 round trip

Spirit:

We had an interesting situation with Spirit Airlines for this trip. It would let us see departing flights on April 21st but noted that there were no return flights available on April 25th. In fact, several days around that were marked similarly.

What we did instead was pair a Spirit Airlines flight on the 21st, which was priced at $156.78; with a Frontier airlines ticket priced at $151. That combination is $307.78. That’s what we’ll use as the low and high for Spirit Airlines for this trip.

Travel

Overall, the average price to fly to Disney World in April of 2022 (using our specific method outlined above) ranged from about $338.71 on the cheaper side, up to about $1,028.13 in terms of the more expensive options.

This is more expensive than the flights we had looked at for select dates in March, but again things can vary greatly depending on when you choose to visit, what airline you use, etc. We did notice that Google Flights also sometimes flagged certain flights as being priced high for that trip, so again things can change.

What Airline Do You Prefer to Fly With?

Remember these are just averages and estimates based on the method we used. The actual cost of your flight to Orlando may be very different.
