We’re back to serve a public service announcement: you don’t have to be vegan to enjoy Disney’s plant-based snacks! Speaking of food, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge has TONS of amazing dining options that are adventurous and exciting (obligatory shout-out to the beloved Nyala Brownie).

Today, we’re trekking back to the Animal Kingdom Lodge to try a plant-based sandwich! Disney has been on a roll with its plant-based options lately, so our expectations were high. Will the new snack live up to our hopes? Let’s find out!

The Chickpea Salad Sandwich is a plant-based entree served at The Mara in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. It comes with tabbouleh and cucumber-tomato salad as additional sides!

This is a great little lunch!

How does chickpea salad taste compare to egg salad? We thought the taste was VERY similar — we actually liked it better than a traditional egg salad! The chickpea salad was served on amazing seed bread and came with a slice of crunchy lettuce. The tabbouleh (which is the salad in the smaller cup) was bright and flavorful, and the cucumber-tomato salad was refreshing, but could have used a little more dressing in our opinion.

This was a big winner for us!

This sandwich is perfect for vegans who might miss egg salad sandwiches (this was a GREAT dupe!), but even non-vegans might like this snack! Disney sells a lot of heavy, filling meals, but this was light and energizing! If you’re a little unsure about the tabbouleh, think of it like an herby salad — it’s packed with parsley so it’s nice and flavorful.

You can buy this Chickpea Salad Sandwich at The Mara for $9.99. For two salads and a sandwich, we thought this was a pretty good value! If there’s one accessory that you can bet on a ton of people at Disney World having, it’s a MagicBand!

MagicBands

MagicBands are your literal key to the kingdom, acting as your ticket, and if you’re staying on property, working as your room key, credit card, and more. Disney announced last year that they would be introducing a new version of the MagicBands sometime in 2022, but it has not yet been revealed exactly when that is happening! So, while we wait for those to be released, Disney has been dropping new designs of the current bands, and 2 new ones just arrived in the parks!

We were browsing The Emporium in Magic Kingdom today when we found these 2 new MagicBands!

Bright colors for spring!

They’re themed to Winnie the Pooh and Finding Nemo, and one of them even has a hidden Mickey! Can you spot it?

You can actually even take a pot of Pooh’s honey home with you now in Disney World, so this MagicBand could be a great matching accessory!

You may not be thinking about concerts and live music when planning your Disney vacation, but it’s a big perk that we often get to experience in the parks!

Disney on Broadway concert series at EPCOT

Both Downtown Disney and Disney Springs are home to live musical performances on the regular, and EPCOT is known for having full-on concerts during the festival seasons. But there’s one BIG performance coming to a Disney location soon that we think is going to be pretty popular!

Calling all Disney Princess fans, we have an event that you NEED to add to your calendar! On February 28th, Pandora Jewelry will be presenting a show called Disney Princess — The Concert in Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort.

The show will start at 11AM and run until 1PM at the Downtown Disney LIVE stage, and those who attend can get a signed limited edition poster keepsake from the cast of the show. But who’s on that list? Well, it’s a star-studded lineup of Susan Egan (played Belle in Beauty and the Beast on Broadway), Arielle Jacobs (played Jasmine in Aladdin on Broadway), Syndee Winters (played Nala in The Lion King on Broadway), and Anneliese Van der Pol (played Belle on Broadway and starred in That’s So Raven as Chelsea).

If you would like to meet the performers, the meet and greet line will begin forming at the stage at 9AM. For the meet and greet before the show, face coverings are required and all photos will be socially distanced. It sounds like it’s going to be a great performance with some fan-favorite songs — we can’t wait! The poison apple concocted by the Evil Queen in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a spooky Disney icon, inspiring merchandise like hats, steins, and even drinks! If you can’t get enough poison apple merchandise, Disney just released a new souvenir you’ll want on your shelf — and it smells REALLY good.

Disney is FINALLY getting into the candle game! In Emporium in Magic Kingdom, we found a NEW Poison Apple Candle for $34.99, and it’s perfectly spooky.

It has that iconic creepy melting white face that we know so well from Snow White, and it would be the perfect addition to your poison apple collection!

This may be just the beginning of Disney releasing themed candles, as we’ve also found this Haunted Mansion Candle over in Disneyland, and a less spooky (but SO adorable) Winnie the Pooh Hunny Candle in Disney World.
