It’s time for an epic battle — of Disney World snacks.
The classic Mickey Waffle
We’ve talked endlessly about Disney snacks that are best for a budget, Disney snacks you haven’t heard of, and even Disney snacks you’ll never try again. But how do you, dear readers, feel about Disney snacks? We asked our readers to defend their favorite Disney World snacks, and here’s what you said!
We reached out to our readers on our Facebook page (give us a follow if you want to share your thoughts in the future!) and received some strong responses. What snacks made the list?
Mickey Beignets
Look, we love Mickey beignets. They’re a classic, Mickey-shaped food covered in powdered sugar, so what’s not to like? One reader said, “Mickey beignets are my absolute favorite! Perfect for breakfast or a light snack. They are fluffy and oh so yummy when covered in powdered sugar.” We have to agree!
Is that enough sugar? We’re not sure.
The same reader added, “Plus it’s a fun snack for the kids because the powdered sugar gets all over the place and there’s nothing better than the giggle fits that will ensue.” You can currently get Mickey Beignets in Disney World at Disney’s Port Orleans — French Quarter Resort hotel, from the Scat Cat’s Club Cafe.
Cinnamon Roll
A Cinnamon Roll from Gaston’s Tavern in Magic Kingdom is a classic Disney World snack, served warm and drizzled with delicious icing. One reader commented that a “cinnamon roll with extra icing from Gaston’s!” is the way to go with snacks. Extra icing? Yes.
Gaston’s Cinnamon Roll
A Cinnamon Roll costs $6.79 from Gaston’s Tavern, and don’t forget to wash it down with some LeFou’s Brew!
Disneyland Churro
We’re cheating a little with this one since it’s from Disneyland Resort, but one reader put it succinctly, “Disneyland Churro. ‘Nuf said.” There’s something about a Disneyland Churro that just hits different! While you can get a churro from a few spots in Disney World, churros are all over the place in Disneyland.
Yum!
You can find a classic churro at Churro Carts located in several places around Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and Downtown Disney, and there are usually specialty, limited-time churros available too! These special churros are usually in celebration of a holiday or event, and in 2019 we actually ranked every single holiday churro we found that year.
Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich
The Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich from L’Artisan des Glaces in EPCOT made our Disney Food Bucket List, and one reader defended its honor, commenting, “Ice Cream Macarons at the France Pavilion are the BEST!! Creamy ice cream with a perfectly made macaron! Doesn’t get much better than that!”
Christmas Macaron
Basically, you get delicious ice cream sandwiched between a macaron. Seasonal flavors vary throughout the year, and we’ve tried a Christmas Macaron, Raspberry, Pumpkin Spice, and lots more! You can choose either chocolate ice cream or the seasonal flavor for $7.
Dole Whip
Surprising no one, Dole Whip was one of the most popular snacks defended by our readers. As one reader put it, “A Dole Whip can be ‘duplicated,’ but it’s never as good as one is in the parks!” We’ve shared an authentic recipe (which you can make two different ways!), but we have to admit, there’s something extra special about getting a Dole Whip in Disney World.
We still love you, Dole Whip!
A classic Dole Whip is pineapple soft-serve, and it’s both gluten-free and vegan! You can also get it in the form of a float or swirl, and there are often seasonal and limited-time flavors available too. It’s one of the most classic Disney snacks you can get, and many readers defended it as the best of the best.
Mickey Bar
Ah, we’ve made it to another classic Disney snack — the Mickey Bar! Although you can buy Mickey Bars in some grocery stores now, it’s not quite the same as eating them in a Disney Park. One reader said, “Mickey ice cream bar. I know. But it’s not the same as buying it in Wegmans and eating it at home. It’s much better in WDW.” As much as we love fancy ice cream treats, the Mickey Bar is iconic.
Even these little guys will cost ya more!
A Mickey Bar is basically just vanilla ice cream coated in chocolate and shaped like Mickey, but it WORKS. Disney World released a 50th anniversary Mickey Bar made with blue raspberry and sprinkles, so you can even try a fancier version! Mickey Bars received a price increase recently to $5.99, but they’re still one of our fave snacks.
Wookiee Cookie
Insert Wookiee noises — it’s time to talk about the Wookiee Cookie! This ginormous cookie can be found at Backlot Express in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and it’s a fan-favorite Disney snack. One reader defended the Wookiee Cookie’s honor by saying, “Love the Wookie Cookie! [It’s] a lovely oatmeal cookie and the cream is light and doesn’t cover up the cookie flavor. The chocolate bandolier is a bonus bit of flavor. Plus it’s huge!”
Wookiee Cookie
Right now, the Wookiee Cookie is $6.29, but like our reader mentioned, it’s HUGE. It can be easily shared or enjoyed throughout the day, which makes it a great value. Whether you love Chewie or oatmeal cookies, it’s worth a try.
Mickey Pretzel
And finally, we’ve come to the Mickey Pretzel, one of the most iconic Disney snacks of all time. As one reader put it, “I throw hands at anyone who doesn’t respect the Mickey pretzel. No questions at this time.” Not only is it perfect for your Instagram feed, it’s Mickey-shaped pretzel goodness.
Mickey Pretzel
Have you even visited Disney World if you haven’t eaten a Mickey Pretzel?! Add in a side of plastic cheese and it’s chef’s kiss.
