Josh Gad Believes Disney Didn’t Do His Gay Character Justice in ‘Beauty and the Beast’

In a recent interview with The Independent, Josh Gad, most famously known as the voice of Olaf in “Frozen,” believes Disney could have done a lot more for his gay character, LeFou, in the live action film, “Beauty and the Beast.”

Gad made history as LeFou being Disney’s first “exclusively gay moment,” as director, Bill Condon, put it.

But instead of this big “moment,” LeFou was only shown dancing with another man for about two seconds.

Gad said, “We didn’t go far enough to warrant accolades. We didn’t go far enough to say, ‘Look how brave we are.’ My regret in what happened is that it became ‘Disney’s first explicitly gay moment’ and it was never intended to be that. It was never intended to be a moment that we should laud ourselves for, because frankly, I don’t think we did justice to what a real gay character in a Disney film should be. That was not LeFou. If we’re going to pat ourselves on the back, then damn it we should have gone further with that. Everybody deserves an opportunity to see themselves on screen, and I don’t think we’ve done enough – and I certainly haven’t done enough to do that.”

REVIEW: Is There TOO Much Going on With Disney World’s New Burger?

We’re CONSTANTLY trying to bust the myth that Disney World serves nothing but burgers and french fries, but we still enjoy a little classic theme park food every once in a while! If you’re looking for a high-quality burger, check out D-Luxe Burger in Disney Springs. It’s not a very big restaurant, but boy do they have some amazing burgers here.

Who’s up for a burger?

In honor of the Celebrate Soulfully event happening in Disney World this month, we decided to try a limited-time offering at D-Luxe Burger! Let’s see how it tasted.

D-Luxe Burger is serving a Spicy Caribbean Jerk Burger for a limited time! The burger is made with two-pressed signature-blend patties with spicy jerk aioli, pineapple-mango salsa, pepper jack, plantain sticks, lettuce, tomato, and grilled onions. It’s available for $12.99.

We’re trying a special menu item today!

Our burger was HUGE! The patty was nice and juicy, and it was cooked to perfection. The lettuce, tomato, and onions tasted light and fresh, but we felt like the plantain sticks were unnecessary.

This thing is stacked HIGH!

The spicy jerk aioli lived up to its name, but it wasn’t burn-your-tastebuds-level spicy. The flavor of the sauce was actually quite nice and paired well with the pineapple mango salsa. In fact, the salsa and the aioli worked perfectly together; the salsa balanced out the spiciness of the jerk sauce.

It looks delicious!

We were a little skeptical at first with all those ingredients to contend with, but we ended up loving this burger! The bun was fresh and fluffy, unlike some fast-food burgers that are about as flat as a pancake. If you are willing to try a burger with a little spice and heat, you’ll probably like D-Luxe’s new burger!

Cooked to perfection!

We’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more!

Take A Photo with the Wolfman at this New Photo Op at Universal Orlando Resort

Inside the Tribute Store at Universal Studios Florida, you can now get your picture taken with the Wolfman at this new photo op. And the cool part is you can do it yourself!

First, you scan the QR code on this sign and it brings you to a site showing you how to use the “Remote Selfie.”

And then there is a page of “Tips & Tricks” on how to use the camera. It also tells you to “Crank Up the Volume!” so you can listen to audio instructions while striking poses.

There is a marking on the floor showing where you stand for the photo.

You can see an actual dummy of the Wolfman will be behind you.

This is your view looking out into the store.

A countdown will be displayed on your phone letting you know how much time you have left.

And this is how our photos came out! The Wolfman is pretty scary.

In the photo, the dummy Wolfman is replaced with a cartoon image of the Wolfman, with the Universal Parks & Resorts logo in the upper left corner.

Once done posing with the Wolfman, you’ll be able to purchase and download your photos right on your smartphone.
