PHOTOS: Disney World Guests Evacuated From the PeopleMover Last Night

Have you ever been evacuated from a Disney World ride?

Believe it or not, it happens often — sometimes rides have technical issues and Cast Members end up having to evacuate guests off of rides. Although an evacuation can often be inconvenient, it can be a necessity (but, hey, you often get to see things on the ride you normally wouldn’t get to see!).

Last night, a ride at Magic Kingdom had to be evacuated — and it’s one we’ve seen evacuated numerous times (like we said, these things happen!). Thanks to DFB Reader @heykaylamay on Instagram, we’ve got photos of what happened when the PeopleMover was evacuated yesterday evening. First, the vehicle came to a stop.

Then Cast Members began to instruct guests on how to evacuate in orderly groups. First, one group was evacuated…

…and then another and another until the ride was empty.

So what should you do if a ride gets evacuated? First, stay calm. Second, listen to Cast Members — they will instruct you on what to do. Soon, you’ll be off the ride and ready for a post-evacuation Dole Whip (or is that just us?). Also, if a ride has been evacuated and is closed, you’ll want to keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app so you know when it opens again.

We’ll let you know about other ride evacuations, closings, and reopenings, so please stay tuned to DFB for more news!
