REVIEW: Coxinhas and Caipirinha Punches Are A Hit or Miss from Brazil Booth at Mardi Gras 2022 at Universal Studios Florida

Mardi Gras 2022 at Universal Studios Florida is underway, and food booths have returned this year to celebrate flavors from around the world through food and beverages. With booths placed around the park, we headed to the Brazil tasting booth next to see what they have to offer during the festival!

Food:

  • Pulled Chicken Coxinha: Crispy pulled chicken tear drop fritters – $5.49
  • 🆕 Romeo & Juliet Coxinha: guava and cheese filled pastry bites – $5.49
  • 🆕 Beef Coxinha: tender beef filled crispy rissole – $5.49

Beverages:

  • Pineapple Caipirinha Punch: Leblon Cachaça, agave nectar, pineapple and lime juice – $8.00 for 9 oz., $13.00 for 12 oz. souvenir cup
  • Strawberry Caipirinha Punch: Leblon Cachaça, agave nectar, strawberry purée and lime juice – $8.00 for 9 oz., $13.00 for 12 oz. souvenir cup

Pulled Chicken Coxinha – $5.49

Crispy pulled chicken tear drop fritters

The chicken coxinhas were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside.

The chicken inside is smooth, similar to croquette filling. These are one of the better offerings at the festival.

*NEW* Romeo & Juliet Coxinha – $5.49

Guava and cheese filled pastry bites

The Romeo and Juliet coxinhas are warm and crispy on the outside, soft and doughy on the inside.

The sweet guava filling and the cream cheese work well together.

*NEW* Beef Coxinha – $5.49

Tender beef filled crispy rissole

The zesty beef coxinhas have some pepper flavor to them.

They are nice and crispy on the outside, but soft and cheesy on the inside. A solid offering, but not a standout.

Pineapple Caipirinha Punch – $8.00 for 9 oz., $13.00 for 12 oz. souvenir cup

Leblon Cachaça, agave nectar, pineapple, and lime juice

This was our least favorite of the alcoholic drink offerings. It tasted like straight pineapple juice.

Neither caipirinhas had much alcohol in them. Unless you’re a big fan of pineapple juice, skip this one.

The sweet strawberry caipirinha would be our first choice of the two beverages offered at this booth.

However, we wouldn’t choose either caipirinha with so many better options around the festival.

The Brazil booth is located in Hollywood at the Café la Bamba patio, as indicated by the letter “I” on the map below.
