A newcomer to the Mardi Gras food booth lineup this year is the Southeast Asia booth. It joins an exciting group of global cuisine, and we’re ready to try everything they have to offer.

Shrimp Laksa: Shrimp, tofu, chicken, hard boiled eggs, Asian noodles in a spicy coconut curry broth – $9.99- Rou Jia Mo: Braised pork, Thai chili peppers, mustard greens, cilantro in a soft griddled bun – $8.99
Beverages:
- Cosmic Mangonada (non-alcoholic): Frozen purple mango slush layered with Tajín seasoning and Chamoy sauce – $5.50
- Voodoo Ranger Juicy Haze: Hazy IPA (7.5% ABV) – $6.50 for 9 oz., $11.50 for 12 oz. souvenir cup

A disappointing take on ramen, this dish was flavorless throughout.
The ramen reminds us of the dried packages you get at the grocery store.
The shrimp, eggs, and the rest of the ingredients were all bland.
Skip this dish, but grab a “chork” on your way past!
*NEW* Rou Jia Mo – $8.99
Braised pork, Thai chili peppers, mustard greens, cilantro in a soft griddled bun
The Rou Jia Mo is similar to a bao bun. The pork is flavorful with a tangy Asian spice.
The pickles and jalapeños add a bit of crunch and flavor. The bun, however, is a miss. It was more like dense bread rather than the bao bun consistency we expected.
*NEW* Cosmic Mangonada (non-alcoholic) – $5.50
Frozen purple mango slush layered with Tajín seasoning and Chamoy sauce
We didn’t enjoy this. There was way too much Tajín seasoning, causing it to overpower the drink. The mango flavor was barely discernible.

From New Belgium Brewing: “Packed with bright tropical aromas and brilliant citrusy flavors, this hazy IPA wraps up with a pleasantly smooth finish.”
