A trip to Universal isn’t complete without a visit to the Wizarding World. While making our way through Hogsmeade today, we spotted a new vegan Shepherd’s Pasty Pie at the Magic Neep. With the crazy crowds around Hogsmeade, we decided to grab this snack while we were on-the-go and give it a full review.
Shepherd’s Pasty Pie – $9.49
Meatless beef crumbles and vegetable stew hand pie
The sign indicates this is a vegan option made with “meatless beef crumbles” and a vegetable stew. The Team Member was very friendly and even made sure that we knew this was a meatless, plant-based option when we placed our order. As soon as we had this beautiful, golden pie in our hand, we couldn’t wait to start eating.
The warm, buttery pastry outside is packed full and you can see tons of veggies mixed in with the “beef” crumbles. Peas, onions, and mushrooms give this a very hearty taste. This savory snack is perfectly fitting for the snow-capped village of Hogsmeade. If you like the rich flavor of veggie stew, this is phenomenal, even if you’re not vegan.
Universal Orlando has been adding a lot of new plant-based offerings to menus around the parks and hotels. We highly recommend this Shepherd’s Pasty Pie if you’re trying to save a little time while grabbing a bite in Hogsmeade. We’ve been known to grab a quick croissant from this cart on early mornings, so we are thrilled to have another fast option available. If you don’t want to take the time to dine in the Three Broomsticks, grab a hand pie and jump in line for Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. What do you think of seeing more plant-based foods around the parks?
