REVIEW: The Cinna-hot Beignet at Port Orleans – French Quarter

There are a few things in my Disney fandom that I enjoy more than seasonal Disney snacks. Thankfully, with Valentine’s Day right around the corner, the chefs at Walt Disney World are pumping out a bunch of special snacks from which to choose. If you are going to be at Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter between now and the end of the month, I highly suggest that you stop by Scat Cat‘s Club Café for their Cinna-hot Beignet.

The Cinna-hot Beignet will set you back $3.49, and according to the description, the snack features hot cinnamon candy flavored icing, a topping of hot cinnamon candy, and heart quins (which are basically really big sprinkles).

The Cinna-hot beignet, like all of the beignets currently being offered at French Quarter, is closer to a doughnut than a traditional choux pastry-based beignet. That being said, I’ll take a beignet any way I can get it. I’m not above making a choux pastry beignet or three at home, but if you make a treat Mickey-shaped doughnut-adjacent beignet and change it up just a hair so that it’s a bit more special, I’m there.

The Cinna-hot beignet was covered – absolutely covered – in a sweet, cinnamony icing. The dusting of crushed cinnamon candy added a fun texture, and was to the treat’s benefit. I wasn’t exactly sure how much I was going to enjoy that dusting of candy, and I was more than pleasantly surprised how enjoyable it really was. And to my great delight, the heart quins weren’t sparingly sprinkled across the top of the beignet; they were sprinkled on like I would do at home: with a very heavy hand. Many thanks to the beignet-making cast members at French Quarter. Y’all are doing it right.

I was asked in the review vlog’s comments if I finished the entire beignet. The answer to that question is a resounding YES. There was nothing left over, no half to save for later. It was too good not to eat in one sitting.

If you’ll be in Walt Disney World in the days ahead, and snacks are your Valentine’s Day love language, be sure to consult Jackie’s list of special holiday snacks. And please let me know in the comments below which snack I need to eat next. It’s good to have priorities, and new snacks are always at the top of my list.
