It’s no secret that theme park food sometimes gets a bad rep for relying on “basic.” And if you think there’s no bigger bland offender than the hot dog, prepare to have your mind BLOWN!

Looking for a quick meal at Disneyland Resort’s Grand Californian Hotel? Well then, GCH Craftsman Grill has you covered! This counter service spot is known for its relaxing atmosphere and variety of quick food options, including the Hot Dog of the Month. Craftsman Grill takes full advantage of the opportunity to showcase exciting flavors with this rotating menu item, and this month’s offering is no exception!

We recently stopped by Craftsman Grill to try out the February Hot Dog of the Month, the Banh Mi Hot Dog! 

Traditionally, banh mi is a Vietnamese sandwich consisting of a baguette filled with a variety of ingredients, like meat, pickled vegetables, and chili peppers. The Banh Mi Hot Dog followed this formula pretty closely, as it was topped with pickled ginger, fresh cilantro, roasted jalapeños, cucumbers, carrots, and sriracha aioli.

Everything about this hot dog was SO GOOD! The aioli and jalapeños added a nice spice which was balanced out by the refreshing carrots and cucumbers. The produce all tasted fresh and the hot dog itself was yummy, which is what we’ve come to expect from the Craftsman Grill hot dogs. The fries were also excellent, they were well-seasoned and we enjoyed the thick-cut texture.

We had absolutely no complaints about this hot dog! If you’re not a fan of banh mi, or you don’t care for spice, it might not be for you. But other than that, we’d say this Hot Dog of the Month is DEFINITELY worth a try!
