The New Disney World Cupcake Is 90% Filling And We’re SO Not Mad About It

February is Black History Month and there are a bunch of ways to celebrate in Disney World!

Soul Mural

Disney’s Celebrate Soulfully event is back this year and will feature special entertainment and merchandise collections in Disney Springs, new sweet treats, and special viewings of movies like Soul and Remember the Titans. And today, we got to try out one of the new sweet treats over in Animal Kingdom!

This is the new Celebrate Soulfully Cupcake! It’s a Vanilla Cupcake with Bananas Foster Filling, Marshmallow Buttercream, White Chocolate Deco, White Chocolate Crisp Pearls, and a Rice Paper Music Sheet. As you can see, the deco feautres Joe from Soul playing the piano!

The colors are beautiful!

We grabbed it over at Flame Tree Barbecue, but you can also get it at Restaurantosaurus in DinoLand U.S.A.!

The music sheet is edible!

The marshmallow buttercream is pretty good on this cupcake — it just tasted like normal vanilla frosting to us, but maybe a little bit sweeter. And, there’s a LOT of it, so you should definitely like buttercream to enjoy this cupcake.

A mountain of frosting!

The best part of this cupcake is absolutely the filling! It’s a true Bananas Foster flavor with nice pieces of banana in it. It’s so caramelized that it almost tasted like butterscotch to us. Plus, we love that they used real bananas instead of artificial flavoring.

Banana Fosters goodness

The only bad thing about this new cupcake is that you really need a plate and have to be sitting down to eat this because it’s very messy. Since it’s served in paper wrapping, you have to peel it off, and once you do, the cupcake kind of just falls apart. The filling is so liquidy that it causes the cupcake to crumble! But, if it wasn’t liquidy, it probably wouldn’t have that true, delicious Bananas Foster flavor, so we’ll deal with a messy cupcake for a great taste!

A closer look

Overall, it’s a really good cupcake, and it can be shareable — you just need napkins and a fork to eat it! If you love bananas and a lot of sugar, this cupcake will be a hit! But, if you’re looking for a light dessert and aren’t a fan of a lot of icing or bananas, skip this one. If you want to try it out, you can get it for $5.99 at Flame Tree Barbecue or Restaurantosaurus!

Messy, but worth it!
