Do you know where you can get astronaut ice cream, tie-dye sherpa Minnie ears, and a $6,000 Minnie Mouse painting all in one place?
If you guessed EPCOT, you’re correct! This Disney World park has all kinds of unique attractions, restaurants, and merchandise. Today, we’re exploring the whole park to see what’s new since the last time we visited! Come along with us to check out all the latest souvenirs, snacks, and more.
Let’s start out with our favorite updates — the ones about food!
EPCOT Food Updates
We spoke to a Cast Member at Karamell-Küche in the Germany pavilion of World Showcase recently, and they told us that the Gingerbread Caramel Cookie Sandwich was officially gone from the location.
BUT on a more recent trip, we spotted the treat back in the display case!
This dessert is usually only available during the holiday season, so it’s likely going to disappear soon. Head into Karamell-Küche ASAP if you want one more before it’s gone!
We also spotted some unusual snacks at the House of Good Fortune shop in the China pavilion. These are the Chocolate Churro flavored Turtle Chips, which you can try for $8.95.
Back in World Discovery, we saw that the Astronaut Ice Cream Sandwiches (found in the Mission: Space gift shop) now come in a couple of different packages for the same flavors.
When we were there, only the orange and pink packages were in stock, and they were both vanilla ice cream sandwiches.

EPCOT Merchandise Updates
Creations Shop
At the Creations Shop, we spotted a new pair of Boxers with a Pluto pattern on them! These have colorful frames with different expressions of the cute pup. You can get them for $36.99.
We also checked on the 2022 Mickey Ear Headbands, and we saw that they’re now available for $22 (very clever, Disney!).
There was a new set of Mickey pins, which included 6 different Mickeys in various jewel-tone colors. This set is $17.99.
And those amazing Tie-Dye Sherpa Minnie Ears are available at Creations Shop as well! These cost $29.99, and we’ve also seen them at the Emporium in Magic Kingdom.
If you LOVE Spaceship Earth, there’s a new translucent EPCOT shirt available for $79.99. The pocket and collar have designs that look just like EPCOT’s icon.
There was also a couple of new souvenirs for EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts, which is going on now. You can get a character magnet for $14.99…
…or a Festival of the Arts ornament (featuring Figment — who else?).
The ornament costs $19.99.
Disney Traders
At Disney Traders, there was a new denim jacket featuring Minnie Mouse.
It has a cute Minnie pin and some patches on the front and a big decal of Minnie on the back.
It’s available in youth sizes for $49.99.
Pin Traders
For all those social media gurus out there, we found the PERFECT set of patches. They’re reaction patches, with images of Mickey, the Cinderella Castle, a Minnie bow, and more.
You can get this set for $9.99.
Test Track SIMporium
At the Test Track SIMporium (the attraction’s gift shop), there were 4 new sets of toys inspired by the movie Cars! You could get Lightning McQueen with Brick Yardley…
…Jackson Storm with Tim Treadless…
…Cam Spinner with Sheldon Shifter…
…or Lightning McQueen with Ralph Carlow.
Each set costs $16.99.
Art of Disney
Looking to spend some big bucks on amazing Disney art? We found a Minnie Mouse painting in a mid-century modern frame for $6,000 at Art of Disney.
The painting was done by artist David McBiff.
Mitsukoshi
Inside Mitsukoshi (the gift shop in the Japan pavilion), we spotted a gorgeous Hello Kitty Tokidoki bag. It’s made with an iridescent material (like lots of 50th Anniversary decorations around the parks) with images of Hello Kitty and her friends. You can get this bag for $68.
Mitsukoshi also had a special Valentine’s Day display with little candies and small stuffed animals.
So you can drop in here to find the perfect gift for your special someone!
Northwest Mercantile
And at the Canada pavilion in World Showcase, we spotted some new Cabin Coasters. They have cute sayings on them like “The cabin is my happy place.”
A set of 4 coasters was $19.99.

EPCOT Construction Updates
We took a look at the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction to see what’s going on with construction there.
We noticed some progress with the painting on the exterior of the building, which is blue, grey, and orange so far.

Other EPCOT Updates
Chalk Art
For the Festival of the Arts, several chalk artists have been displaying their work on EPCOT’s sidewalks. We took a look at the progress of a couple of pictures…
…and stopped to admire a new Moana one by Nate Baranowski that’s nearing completion.
It’s amazing how realistic these 3D chalk pictures look!
Crowds
In terms of crowds, EPCOT has been very hit-or-miss lately. On one trip, there were some BIG crowds in the park, which led to long queues for the attractions and restaurants.
But just a couple of days later, there were very short lines at all of the food booths and a lot fewer people around World Showcase.
Usually, EPCOT is much more crowded in the evenings and on weekends during festival times, so if you can get there earlier in the morning or during the week, there’s a better chance for low crowds.
Secret Sword
Do you know what’s hiding behind the waterfall in the Norway pavilion of World Showcase?
In case you didn’t know, there’s a sword back there! It’s usually very difficult to see, but recently the water was turned off, so you could see this EPCOT secret. The water might be turned off for some cleaning since it looks like the area has gotten a little rusty.
Now you can tell all of your friends and impress them with your Disney World triva knowledge!
The Most Important Update of All
Of course, we didn’t forget to stop by the Seas to check on our friends the Sea Urchins! A while ago the keepers put little Mickey ear hats into their tank, and the sea urchins will pick them up and put them on. This is a natural behavior (for camouflage), and it results in some adorable Mickey-hat-wearing urchins.
On our most recent visit, a sea urchin was wearing one of the Mickey hats! Do we check on these guys almost every time we’re in this park? Of course! We focus on the most important news here at DFB.
