Disney World is constantly changing!
Disney’s BoardWalk is changing!
That’s very much in line with Walt’s original vision for the parks — something that would never really be completed. We’ve already seen the France Pavilion at EPCOT get updated (complete with a new attraction), the EPCOT transformation gets closer to completion every day, and Magic Kingdom is well on its way to the opening of the new TRON coaster. And now we’ve heard about some BIG changes coming to Disney’s BoardWalk!
Recently, Disney announced that it’s going to bring some “new enhancements and offerings” to the BoardWalk! So what all is changing? We’re breaking it down for you right here!
New Restaurant
A new table service restaurant with “storybook sweet treats and dreamy desserts” is headed to the BoardWalk. The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers, which is expected to open in 2023, will offer both savory and sweet options.

The restaurant will also offer an afternoon tea service, and will feature “a whimsical atmosphere that complements the magic of the idyllic charm of Disney’s BoardWalk that guests know and love.”

Changes to Boardwalk Bakery
With a NEW bakery on the way, the BoardWalk Bakery will undergo some changes and become a sandwich shop for guests to enjoy.

BoardWalk Bakery currently serves sandwiches as well as breakfast items and baked goods. We’ll be interested to see how their sandwich selections might change in the future once this change is made.

Changes at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn — “Reinvigoration”
Over at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, “light and airy touches” will (as Disney says) “reinvigorate” the hotel’s lobby, lounge, and guest rooms.

According to Disney, these changes will “carry[] the seaside breeze right inside.”

Changes at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn — A New Coffee Bar!
A new coffee bar is also on the way for Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. It will be located just off of the hotel’s lobby and will feature “artisanal beverages and quick bites” that are available to-go, although there will also be some seating spaces indoors and outdoors.
