Today is the first day of the 2022 EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival, and we are eating our way around the park!
We’re taking you with us as we check out all the food booths, and now we’ve arrived at the famed plant-based booth, Trowel & Trellis! We’ve loved this booth in the past, but has that changed this year? Find out here!
Trowel & Trellis is hosted by Impossible Foods, which means that every item on the menu is plant-based!
Menu
This year, there are some returning items and one new dessert, and Grilled Street Corn on the Cob is not back this year. But don’t worry! It’s actually just moved to Flavor Full Kitchen!
This is the booth to visit if you eat a plant-based diet, so check out our full review below.
Food
Let’s start with the first NEW eat! The Grilled Baby Vegetables with Hummus Cream and Red Pepper Coulis are $4.75, and this dish is part of the 2022 Garden Graze! We thought these were a very pretty and simple dish that really lets the flavors of the veggies shine. Our favorites were the onion and squash!
The hummus is light and that red pepper had a coulis with a BOLD kick to it. This dish isn’t going to fill anyone up, but it is a healthy and flavorful snack.
They once again have the Impossible Sausage and Kale Soup for $5.25. This soup has a nice kick to it, and you might find the flavors surprising. Our only issue is that hot soup on a warm spring day is not ideal.
The Boneless Impossible Korean Short Rib with Cilantro-Lime Rice, Danmuji Slaw, and Kimchee Mayonnaise has also returned this year for $6.75. This dish is plant-based ribs done right.
For dessert, there’s a new sweet to try! The new Trowel & Trellis dessert is Chocolate Cake with Whipped Cassis Mousse, Raspberry Gelato, and Fresh Raspberries for $4.75.
This is not your typical chocolate cake — there’s a flavor there that reminds you it’s plant-based. We found it to be on the less-sweet side, both the cake and the whipped mousse. We liked the slight berry flavor in the mousse and those who like a milder dessert might like this.
But, boy, did it melt quick!
Drinks
All the drinks on this menu are returning this year, so you can once again enjoy the Twinings of London Energize Matcha Cranberry & Lime Green Tea, which you can order as non-alcoholic for $4.50 or alcoholic for $11. The alcoholic version comes with Hanger 1 Makrut Lime Vodka, and it’s served in a mason jar!
For a beer option, the Parish Brewing Co. Bloom Hazy IPA is back again for $5 for 6 ounces or $9 for 12 ounces. This beer is known for its floral flavor notes, so it makes sense to be at the Flower & Garden Festival!
Overall
We love the inclusion of this booth at Flower and Garden! This festival has a number of plant-based menu items, but having a whole booth dedicated to them is pretty special. Between the short rib, which we loved last year, and the new grilled veggies; plant-based eaters AND those looking for something lighter or unique will enjoy this spot.
