The Cayman Islands are reopening their cruise ship ports after two years, with phase 1 of the reopening starting March 21, 2022 when the Disney Magic arrives.
The Disney Magic is the first of 15 ships from six cruise lines that have been approved to visit Grand Cayman during phase 1. The Disney Fantasy will visit on March 29.
Phase 1 will last four weeks, with cruise passenger arrivals limited to 40% of its previous volume or a maximum of 75,000 passengers. The total number of passengers during phase 1 will be 74,208. No overnight visits are planned and calls will last six to eight hours.
Passengers and crew members who have tested positive for COVID-19, as well as members of their party and close contacts, will not be allowed to disembark in Grand Cayman, regardless of symptoms. Disney Cruise Line is currently requiring all passengers to test negative for COVID-19 before boarding.
If phase 1 goes well and the Public Health Administration approves phase 2, it will be announced.
