Disney World’s Returning Snack Has SO MUCH Potential…But Does it Deliver?

St. Patty’s Day is coming up soon and Disney World is gearing up to celebrate!

Mighty Festival

We’ve seen some bright green Minnie Ears already and Raglan Road in Disney Springs is hosting a week-long Mighty St. Patrick’s Festival with special live entertainment! And, there’s a returning food offering in Disney World that’s perfectly themed for the lucky holiday.

This is the Irish Pork Bangers Poutine! It has Irish Cheddar, Irish Bangers, Onion Marmalade, and Stout Gravy all over top of some golden French fries. You can find it over at The Daily Poutine in Disney Springs for $9.99.

Let’s try ’em!

We tried this poutine last year and really enjoyed it, but it was NOT pretty to look at! So, how does it stack up this year?

It was lookin’ a little rough last year!

Well, it does look a little better, but that might be because we got less gravy, so we’re not sure if this is a good or bad thing. 🤔

Where’s the gravy?!

But, what about the flavor? Our one gripe about this poutine last year was that it could use some more cheese (DFB asking for more cheese? Shocking😉). Sadly, the cheese level has remained the same this year!

The onion marmalade and the bangers (which are pork sausages, by the way) were the most prominent flavors of this poutine, but they weren’t as flavorful as we think they could have been.

A different take on bangers and mash

The onion marmalade isn’t too sweet, it actually balances well with the other parts of the dish. But, if you get all of the elements together in one bite, there wasn’t much flavor. It could definitely pack more of a punch!

You might want a fork to eat these!

We actually thought it smelled a lot better than it tasted, which was a bit disappointing.

We love this idea though!

This is a nice switch up from the regular poutines we’re used to, which are usually just fries, cheese curds, and brown gravy. If you want a hearty snack that isn’t too over-the-top when it comes to flavors, you might enjoy this option!

Not a light snack, that’s for sure

But, if you want something with a lot more flavor, try a different snack at Disney Springs, like some of the small plates over at Wine Bar George!

Overall, we are sad that this poutine wasn’t as good as it was last year, but maybe that was just our experience and you’ll get a really good batch if you try it! Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney food news and reviews.
